I get it. I know Delta is under pressure due to lack of medical staff. I get that working emergency is tough. Not asking for compassion but for help. Asking a patient why they are here and not closer to home is ridiculous. Some of us are passing through and leaving a friend's house and boom...a situation that is deemed an emergency is maybe just not. I wont come back here again it's good this hospital is in Delta/Ladner but not a great place. I'll take the front nurse comments as stay in Vancouver and drive yourself further next time. So lame. Makes me think private care is almost better.....almost.....

And I won't comment on racism cause read review below. It's so unfortunate. If you're not white and you come here make sure you know medical terminology in and out. Speak their language and they're nicer.

Their staff really don't do much to help. Call for a question, get redirected to 3 other departments. Very rude nurses who act like they're too busy to help you but they have a lot of time to huddle around gossiping about patients. I get that we get free health care but you're still paid. Do your jobs or you'll be replaced by overseas workers who will happily do it for you.

My mum and I had an excellent experience with the entire staff (especially Dr. Powers and RN Kevin, RN Tanya and the care aides). My mother came in due to debilitating pains and they ran all the tests and were so kind and thoughtful, we are very impressed and I hope Fraser health rewards the hard work of this hospital!

Went in very sick and weak with intermittent chest pain. The administrator taking my details was nice. The triage nurse was obviously mentally ill. She was a white brunette in her 30's who in spite of me having chest pain and feeling extremely weak, was asking me to do an endless list of trivial things like move my sweatshirt and micro-manage my belongings when I was fearing for my life and was withholding treatment until I did. I begged another nurse for help and he came to my aide and gave me medication and treatment and she stormed away furious and "went for a run". She was withholding treatment from me until I played all of her little games in some sick power fantasy. It was truly disgusting behavior and I'm sure it will continue to go unchecked because nobody gives a shit. I was eventually seen by a third nurse whose demeanor was best described as mean-apathetic, some weird neck tattoos, but to her credit she at least did her job rather than playing with my life to get off on some sick power fantasy. The doctor was good, older asian male, he cared and was nice. I was then sit down through the night for my condition to stabilize and the things I saw were quite frankly enough to make me want to leave Canada for a country with a healthcare system with more oversight and care. A woman, who was actively, audibly dying down the hall was setting off all kinds of alarms, and numerous hospital staff were concerned, and then I saw her, a middle aged white woman, prancing over to the room to say "Honey, you need to take deep breaths ok or the machine is going to beep!" in some sick trance, where the machine beeping was the problem, only to storm back out and tell everyone "OMG! She's fine! Really!" while the woman was screaming in agony and her O2 was in the 60's as reported by another nurse. The woman was dying and the person responsible for her care genuinely, did not care about it at all, and had instructed others that everything was fine. Paramedics brought another patient in and were concerned by various alarms, talked amongst themselves, and then promptly left looking frustrated and with a visible look of disdain for the hospital staff. This hospital, somehow, has developed a culture of borderline psychopathic indifference towards the life or death of the individuals in this community and needs a complete audit from top to bottom. The idea that we are forced to trust these people with our lives and are met with such malefic indifference when at our weakest and fighting for our lives is unimaginable.

Staff is very rude. Did not like to answer any questions. I sat there with my friend for more than 6 hrs after his xray had done. Nobody called us and when we asked them why it’s taking so long even you guys doesn’t seem busy but did not get any answer from them. After 5 mins the lady who was working at Report and Registration desk came to me and told me to leave. I told her my friend has language barrier that’s why i am here. Then she told me to stand in the corner. She said I can’t sit here in the waiting area. So embarrassing i felt the whole medical system is in deep shit. Nurses are laughing talking to each other for mins standing in front of patients. Patients are waiting for hours. No drinking water available No Coffee available. There was a paid coffee machine there but was totally empty. No coffee available in it.

Horrible people, they’ve been extremely kind to any Caucasian person even if they’re causing a ruckus, they then only treat white patients first haven’t seen one white person wait for more than an hour. Where any person of colour will be selected in a random order to treat no matter how long they’ve been waiting ? I’ve seen multiple people try asking questions but have been VERY RUDELY AND NEGATIVELY shut down. None of these people deserve to be in healthcare. Crazy work. Will be filing a complaint to the board as well.

Went in to surgical daycare for a procedure and the experience from the minute walking in to the hospital to the minute walking out was fantastic. I was extremely nervous, but the surgical daycare staff were amazing from start to finish! Thank you for such a great experience and fantastic care!

We went there on 3 pm and waited for almost 12 hours to be seen by a doctor. At around 2:30 in the morning, one of the nurse came up to us and told us that we have been discharged without being seen by a doctor. When I asked why, she told me that we called your name and you were not there, whereas, I was sitting there this whole time. I tried to tell her that I was there and nobody called my name. But they were very rude. They told me to go back, register again and wait another 12 hours to be seen by a doctor. I then left without being seen by a doctor. I have been thinking about this since I woke up this morning. I still can't understand why would they do that to me? The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that I was a victim of systemic racism.
