I had a checking account and one night I got a notification by text that a $20 e- transfer has just been sent from my account. I knew this hadn’t happened because I didn’t do it so I phoned them immediately and I told them that this $20 had been stolen from my account. In the following few minutes another $500 and then another $2000 were also transferred out of my account by e-transfers. After all was said and done and the investigation was done, they decided it was my fault because well they never really explained that they just said that I had to pay the money back. I had just finished radiation therapy and I was not feeling well and I had lost my license for three months because of medical reasons. I was not able to get to my branch in person because I live on the Malahat and was not able to get into the branch without great difficulty as I have no family anymore. And you can’t simply just call the branch so I would have to deal with people in the call centre or leave messages through emails. Of course I never got the same person twice could never get a hold of anybody when I wanted to, and then all of a sudden I was told my account was going to be closed and that I would have to pay this money back. As my account was at zero at the time they had taken all the money from my overdraft of $3000 so I had to pay back $2500 and as a person on disability payments because of lung damage from years of working, I am on a very fixed income that was stolen. I am going to sue them. I can’t believe I told them that $20 has been stolen from my account through your transfer and they still let $2500 be stolen and they see it as my fault. Unbelievable.
Now that I’m healthier now and am feeling somewhat stronger I am going to contact a lawyer. I’ve been too weak to even leave the house, but as I think of this, and I am so amazed at how I could be treated so badly with no real explanation of how I was at fault Period. At the time I just gave up because I was just so tired. But now I need to fight.

If you guys put the ATM outside you should almost keep envelopes outside so people can use it. Idk, just an idea.
