Just started with them about a week ago. I had deposits go into my account but unfortunately I don't have my debit card as there is now a postal strike. I was transferring money out to another account so I can at least pay bills, etc. Well, apparently they didn't like that. They froze my last e-transfer which was a significant amount. I tried cancelling it but i was told it will take at least 4 days before it will be released. Apparently doing large transfers out from a new account is big flag. Again, no debit card. I am screwed big time. Definitely leaving them as soon as the money is released.

I have been with this bank for over 5 years, have been screwed over more than once. My first case of being screwed was about 3-4 years ago, when setting up TAP on my card they defaulted the credits to come from my savings account for God knows why. It resulted in $150 of service charges for less then $60 actually spent on product ($5 charge per tap). Now more recently, I went into the branch to question when my new debit card would arrive (August 28th 2024 was the day, it expired in September). They told me not to worry as I would have a new Debit card as of September 14th-16th. It is now October 2nd and I have not received said card and I'm currently locked out of my account because my old card has literally expired, not even able to withdraw cash from the ATM until they send me a new card. I will be coming into the branch tomorrow morning to speak about most likely leaving. I'm extremely unhappy with my service or more-so lack there of. I do NOT recommend this "bank".

The bank machines are old and take forever to get your money
Don’t ask people to show up early and then are forced to stand outside while the person is behind the counter and could let you in

Terribly slow service, understaffed with one teller on who is way overworked. Currently 3 people still waiting to be seen after twenty minutes of standing. Will be switching to a different bank. Do not recommend, oh also they still charge fees for business account which is archaic. Been a loyal customer for 20 years but it's time to make a switch to a better run bank.

Old complaint: The manager at this bank personally prevents regular people from having access to their money, on purpose, just because she can and she decided you are less worthy due to your financial status.

I’ve banked with Coastal savings for over 10 years now and in the beginning, they were amazing. Awesome customer service super helpful, amazing perks, and bonuses. And then they went national and everything went down the tubes. Their customer service is garbage, and I recently was involved with a scam, unfortunately, due to no fault of my own and ended up depositing checks into my online banking that I thought were for work because I had recently gotten hired at a new job and instead it was someone scamming. And Coastal savings informed me that there was nothing they could do and they may possibly be able to offer me a payment plan for the $3000 that ended up going through my account. But when I reported it to the RCMP, the RCMP informed me that it is absolutely not my responsibility or should come out of my bank account at all and is in fact the responsibility of the bank, a.k.a. Coast Capital. so not only did I think I was scammed by a job and wasted almost a week of my time but Coast Capital also essentially is trying to scam me out of $3000 due to the fact that they don’t want to do their due diligence and investigate the matter. So do not trust these people with your money at all ever.

The customer service at this location seems to be non-existent … because there are no customer service reps available. Like ever …
At any point during the day they have one rep and a line up to the door … consider whether to open accounts here. And if you do, hope you have lots of patience.

Some of the staff are fantastic and provide great service, but this location needs some help. Drive through ATM always out of envelopes and often is broken down, ATM inside similar issues and has even eaten my card twice, very little foreign currency on site, frequently huge wait times inside, the staff that aren't fantastic are quite rude, and the hours for this (and all branches, actually) branch "due to COVID" are ridiculous, i also bank with TD and their hours are significantly better. Not the fault of this branch, but Coast online banking is super buggy, often crashes or just won't load (website and app).
