Took my eight year-old daughter there and they refused to give antibiotics to children even when they clearly need it. It has been twice this has happened. If a child needs medication, they should be provided with it. Four hours spent to be turned away.

I called in advance to make sure the clinic was going to be open since I was coming from out of town and was told they would close at 2pm, so I should arrive before 1pm. I arrived at 12pm and was told they were closed. There was no mention of the possibility of an earlier closure. Wasted my time because of incorrect information.

Our new medical system has doctors offices 3 weeks out and only phone calls. Sad very sad. These facility is great, very professional!! I don't like using it for something my doctor should care for, but what choice do I have?

The Woman and Men m, Doctors and Nurses at the Chemainus Urgent Care are truly amazing. Nurse Liz was genuinely such a caring and compassion nurse. Dr Hussein is a standup, incredibly caring, and compassionate physician. If you get the opportunity to see him you’re in great hands.

My hubby and I both had to go to the lab to get some bloodwork done. We were greeted at the door promptly at 8 am. The staff were so friendly and we were treated very well. We're so lucky to have this service right here in Chemainus. Thanks to all the staff.

I had to go to Chemainus Urgent Care as a result of a bike accident 7 stitches later I was out. I was so impressed with Dr. Lewis and the nurses there. So pleasant and professional. I initially went to the Ladysmith Urgent Care however they were extremely busy. The nurse there took the time to call Chemainus and suggested less wait time there. So I made the short trip to Chemainus We are so lucky to have these facilities and the great staff that goes with them. Thank you.l

I was loaded for bear after spending 3 hours at the Chemainus Health Care Centre without actually seeing a doctor. Decided to try and moderate my review with some constructive feedback.

1. The intake person appears to do nothing more than tell people to park their butts on the purple and green chairs on the right, if there are no chairs well "that's that way it is". Luckily I'm not 90 years old, like the man in front of me. Great show of compassion my dear. After watching you spend hours on your cell phone I felt that perhaps you could have added a bit more information in your "welcoming" spiel. Maybe you could have taken a moment to explain that the people in the chairs on the right would be triaged, once they had been seen by the nurse they would be sent back out to wait their turn to see the doctor. If this task proves to be too onerous maybe a small handout for those of us who are unfamiliar with an explanation of how this all works.

2. The "musical chairs" system in place in the waiting room is absurd. The person at the front of the line gets called in to be triaged and everybody else gets up and moves ahead one chair. Is this a child's birthday party? Did I mention that the man in front of me was 90 years old, he almost fell over every time he had to get up and change chairs. Absolutely ridiculous! Give us numbers and let us sit where it is convenient. It can't be too expensive to buy one of those number dispensers, or just use numbered cards. It ain't rocket science.

3. Everybody at the Health Centre is too busy to explain the basics to people who are in pain, exhausted or just plain confused. I cannot begin to imagine what you go through every day, but your patients are also going through a lot and a smile and a moment to explain what is going on goes a long way.

4. It sure would be nice to have someone stick their head out every once in a while and say "you're next, then you and then you, if we don't get an emergency". We understand the idea of triage.

I don't expect this review to gain me any fans. Just want to say that I think things could be done better for very little cost and no additional manpower, Making things easier for the existing health care staff, who are working in challenging conditions right now.

As I was walking back to my car, to go see the pharmacist, whom I should have seen in the first place, I saw the Patient Parking signs. Just an FYI - everyone in that waiting room violated the 30 minute rule.
