Cedars will encourage their patients to enter into their extended *recovery programs, including second stage housing. Sober living facilities. Cedars is a charity. The sober living houses are owned by their board and staff. They encourage patients to live at their privately owned sober living houses. They personally benefit from these facilities. They are not part of Cedars. They will encourage their patients to live in these houses even if it means it makes them unavailable to their families who have been patiently waiting for them to come back and support their children.

The father of my children attended Cedars and he
never came back. Before he finished his 3 month stay he had a new girlfriend (who was also an addict in recovery attending Cedars) and a brand new life that his children and I had no business being a part of. He doesn’t pay child support. He doesn’t call the kids, not even on Christmas or their birthdays. But he works for Cedars now, thousands of miles away from his children, at a place that claims to be “built by families, for families”. Thanks for nothing, Cedars. If I could give 0 stars I would.

In January it will be 3 years since I attended cedars. When I arrived at cedars I was a scared young teenager who didn’t even have a high-school diploma. The staff at cedars were super non-judgemental, empathetic and reasonable with dealing with people who struggle with various problems such addiction, behaviour, anger and impulses. From my experience the staff at cedars always made sure that everyone was safe regarding feeling comfortable with their LGBT identity and have always tried to prevent a toxic like prison environment specifically with helping people to not act out with anger by helping their clients reach a higher power of their understanding if you or a loved one is struggling with a drug and alcohol problem I would highly recommend cedars

The staff at Cedar's are some of the most compassionate and empathetic people I have ever worked with during my addiction/ mental health journey. I was unable to complete my full stay due to external personal reasons; however the facilities and curriculum were excellent. The campus is located in the middle of a pristine forest & the food is amazing (with a fully-stocked salad bar). They genuinely care & I would send a loved one there in the future. Cedars saved my life. Been sober since Nov 2013. They kept in touch before I got there, when I got home & through out the years on Social Media. They are professional & kind & most of the staff are recovering addicts themselves. I had a great experience at Cedars, it was by far the best rehab I have attended. My husband, mom and mother in law attended the week long program to learn about themselves, how an addict effects their lives and what to do and not to do. I would highly recommend this rehab and the programs that go along with it.

I’m extremely grateful that I was able to go to Cedars when I did. From the CEO, to all of the counsellors, to the CSW’s (support staff), medical staff, administration, the aftercare team, the cooking and cleaning staff even the maintenance team - I believe every person that works there truly wants to help, I didn’t come across ONE staff member that gave me the impression that they didn’t care. They have some of the best counsellors I have ever seen.
I can see why people say this is one of the best treatment programs in Canada. The trauma program, accelerated resolution therapy sessions, the spiritual health and wellness group, doing AA, NA, smart recovery meetings along with so many other things that I was able to do while I was there helped to change some negative core beliefs that I have held for many years about myself, before I went there things were really really dark, I felt trapped and like there was no way out and today I can truly say I have hope and I can say that I’m finally starting to love myself, and I am 100% clean and sober and have more confidence in myself then I think I have ever had. The aftercare program is also unbelievable, you get a recovery coach and aftercare for a year after you compete the program which really goes a long way to help you stay on track. If you are struggling with addiction I highly recommend you give Cedars a chance, it could save your life. It is a magical place.
