We attended Sunday Mass and were deeply moved by the rich history and faith that surrounded us. Father Dan, an exceptional priest, spoke with such sincerity and wisdom that made us feel profoundly connected to both the history and the spirit of the place.

It was truly an inspiring and unforgettable experience. The church itself was stunningly beautiful and filled with a sense of spirituality — the architecture was breathtaking, and the atmosphere was peaceful and deeply sacred.

This church is far from what it used to be. The big mural of the Blessed Virgin and the Holy Trinity was painted out. The original colored statues are painted dull and white. How can one even call this a Catholic Church if there's barely any altar? Not far from any typical charismatic church... On top of that, Fr Lewis has a nasty attitude towards people and children. Would not recommend this "Catholic" church!

It is worth questioning whether this cathedral continues to reflect the original identity of the Catholic Church, given the extent of its modern liturgical practices and visible alignment with the reforms introduced mid-twentieth century. Several observations raise concerns:

1. The Jesuit presider, Scott Lewis, appeared to minimize the distinctiveness of Catholic doctrine by emphasizing religious "unity" in a manner that could be interpreted as promoting a form of religious syncretism. This approach risks diluting core theological tenets in favor of a more generic spiritual inclusivity. The presider implicitly denies the need of being in a religion; Catholicism, for him, is just like any other religion, not the true religion. This is in direct conflict with our profession of faith -"One, Holy, CATHOLIC, and apostolic Church".

2. Certain liturgical gestures were omitted during key moments of the Mass—for instance, the customary sign of the cross at the proclamation of the Gospel ("Glory to You, O Lord") was not performed by the presider. Such omission can impact the perceived reverence and integrity of the liturgy.

3. While the homily was intellectually structured, the overall demeanor of the presider suggested a lack of solemn engagement. The Mass appeared to be conducted with undue haste, which detracted from its contemplative and sacred atmosphere. Could he always be hungry for lunch/ dinner after the service?

4. The same clergyman in question wore a grey chasuble during the Christmas Eve mass. I am not aware of the new liturgical color. Will he be wearing rainbow chasubles next? (Queueing in "Fiducia Supplicans".)

5. Girls among altar "boys"?

6. An announcement was made inviting individuals to join a "Couples for Christ" program, including those currently living in cohabitation. Cohabitation outside of marriage is considered inconsistent with moral teachings of Christianity. The inclusion of cohabiting couples in such a group raises questions about the organization’s adherence to its foundational principles. This development may reflect broader shifts in societal values and a growing ambiguity regarding religious norms and expectations.

Attending the service at this location may not have been a fruitful spiritual experience. As always, it is advisable to approach any "Catholic" service with discernment, especially when considering the influence of an individual clergy and his interpretations of the True doctrine.

Moreover, it is essential to approach contemporary Jesuit discourse with a critical and discerning perspective, particularly when attending Sunday Mass at this Cathedral, where precaution and careful attention should be paid to the content of the homilies and teachings presented.

Hermosa catedral con 2 torres terminadas en pico. Hermosas. Pintada en colores claros un vitral central que la hace lucir muy bonita. Bonito edificio en general sus torres pueden ser vistas desde algunas cuadras antes lo cual te hace identificar el edificio de inmediato .
Espero regresar para conocerla desde adentro.
