My Mum has been at Carlton House for two years. She stayed in her own house for longer then we expected after my Dad passed but was lonely and I needed her closer to me in Victoria to help her as needed. She was showing signs of some memory loss but was still very independent. The support and love shown by all the staff at Carlton made her feel secure again and her room was lovely. She was even able to keep her cat! I loved visiting her daily because everyone was just so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed getting to know all the staff and other residents. The activities were always well run and vibrant with energy. It is the perfect size, being a boutique style residence, for everyone to get to know each other. The food was also always excellent, especially the seasonal buffet Sunday spreads!! I can't say enough of how much we appreciated our time at Carlton. Mum's memory loss has progressed to require more needs so she has moved to Long Term Memory Care. We will miss everyone! Thank you all.

My father has resided at Carlton House of Oak Bay for almost one and a half years. We truly can't say enough what a wonderful experience it has been. After visiting most of the independent living facilities in the area, we chose Carlton House for a number of reasons. Located in the heart of the village of Oak Bay, Carlton House is within easy walking distance of great local shops and restaurants. The building has all the modern amenities we were looking for, yet it feels like a warm and inviting boutique hotel. The in-house library, in particular, is one of our favourite spots. The unit we chose is a one bedroom and den, which helped ease the trepidation of downsizing from a house. There are plenty of activities scheduled monthly, and the dining offerings are outstanding. Perhaps the most important element at Carlton House, however, has turn out to be the staff. Maintenance, management, kitchen and cleaning - they're all exceptional and take a genuine interest in my father's wellbeing. This is a family-run business, not part of a chain, and there is a consequent attention to detail in everything from holiday decorations to resident engagement.
In short, we are so happy to have found Carlton House. Living there is allowing my father to live out his remaining years in secure, elegant comfort, free of the day-to-day burdens of life and open to as much activity as he wishes.

My Mom has been living at Carlton House for nearly 7 years. Over that time, it cannot be understated how much help and support the staff at Carlton House have given our family. As Mom has aged, they have helped us to manage the changes, bringing all their experience and compassion to bear, by helping us to help her to live a good life. This is a small community as far as retirement homes go, but a strong one and I am so glad that our family has been a part of it for so long.

Carlton House excels at choice and variety. The lunch and dinner menus each have 3 options. Leisure time activities include games such as bingo and bridge; musical, mystery, and foreign films; university lectures, painting classes and exercise classes. The library has a book for every interest; the neighborhood offers shops for every taste; and, your new neighbours will be as varied as Carlton House itself.

Carlton House is rich with community spirit and life, skillfully supported by a congenial and accessible management team, and personable, supportive staff. An ideal retirement residence we are located close to Oak Bay shops and recreation facilties, including a pool and public library, as well lovely walks along Oak Bay shores and beaches, Bowker Creek walkway, and Windsor Park.

Suites range in size from bachelor to two bedrooms, with recently renovated kitchen area and baths. Weekly housekeeping is provided for each suite, and dining includes three meals a day with diverse and tasteful course offerings. Residents are welcome to bring wine to dinner. Underground parking is provided; this and all services are provided
In monthly fees.

Most enjoyable, especially under careful observance of public health regulations, residents enjoyed a range of diverse opportunities for in-house entertainment.
