My rating is for the kind individuals who went over my food options with me and made me feel a little less like crying.

I'm someone who usually helps others so it's been very hard to make the decision to reach out to various food banks and emergency services. My local emergency bank is closed as our community center has been made a temporary emergency shelter. Most activities have been moved elsewhere and they're too far for me as someone with no car and limited mobility on very hard days.

My first interaction walking in was difficult. And to be told "Well help you once but you need to be at your own emergency location" was a bit defeating to say the least.

I reached out to the food banks mainline to ask for other options while my location was closed, after being given 3 options, this location was the easiest for me to get to as it was 1 bus and then a small 15 min walk which wouldn't be too difficult.

I even reached out to this location before coming in because I already felt uncomfortable. I was assured it was ok. I'll be honest, I wanted to just leave in the moment.

However, the other individuals were so kind and it may sound silly but the smiles made it a bit better. I wanted to cry so very badly and felt awful for being there but they made me feel a little less like I was a burden.

So to the kind indivuduals, thank you very much for helping me in a very difficult time. Your volunteer work is so important and you really make a big impact for people in need.

I do still recommend this place for people in need, the volunteers are lovely.

Great people! They give out fresh produce, meat, canned goods and some dairy along with feminine hygiene products. A meal is served on Mondays. Don’t hesitate to go.

Omg I went there for the first time and can't explain how amazing and nice people are they. And the amount.of food they gave me I never had ever bought that amount of food in my life. I am so happy god bless you all for this food you gave me today. I only have $3 in my account and love how much good they gave me today. Thank you so so much for everything and please keep your good work I am very happy you made my day and now my son will be very happy to see the fridge full.
