My mother lives in Canterbury Manor.
She feels safe and comfortable there at over 100. There are activities she loves like Trivia on Monday mornings and entertainment on Friday afternoon. A group of Seniors from her hallway enjoy getting together just to talk. There are many other activities offered. I just can't describe them all.

My Mom moved to Canterbury Court from a publicly funded supportive living facility in June 2023. Since the move she is a totally different person mentally and physically and she is thriving in her new home. The food quality is excellent as well as the variety. She receives all her personal care under one roof and loves the view of the beautiful Courtyard from her suite. All the staff are very friendly, accommodating and responsive to her needs. There are many daily activities for her entertainment and mental well being. My siblings and I are very comforted knowing that Mom is receiving the best care possible, in a clean and welcoming environment.

I have been with the organization for 15 years and I love working at Canterbury. There is a consistent theme of quality improvement everyday; leaders and staff working tirelessly side by side.

When I come into work, it doesn't feel like being at work. It feels like coming home and with the newly renovated spaces we strive to make feel like home. Resident insight and collaboration is very important to some of the decisions that are made around Canterbury.

Our residents are like family in the way that we strive to do the very best for them. Staff are friendly, have caring hearts and a passion for improving the quality of life for the residents they care for.

My Mom lived at Canterbury Court for a year and a half after moving to Edmonton from Saskatchewan. It is a great place! -Good location, a really nice facility, and the staff are excellent. The food was good and my Mom really enjoyed all the activities and entertainment.

I have visited Canterbury on more than one occasion and I've always been greeted with a warm welcome. It's a beautiful facility that really cares about its residence. Lots of events and gatherings to keep people active and a wonderful team that truly knows the value of family and connection.

Everytime u walk through the front doors of Canerbury Foundation it just feels like home. The staff are amazing and care so much for their residents. It's a warm environment where your love ones can get the best care. They care about everyone from the residents to the family. Everyone that walks through that door is family.

My wife became a resident of the Canterbury Foundation’s Haven on April 10, 2024. She arrived after spending more than three months in the University of Alberta hospital as a result of serious illnesses. Once she was stabilized at the hospital, we needed to find an appropriate care facility for her.

When my daughter and son-in-law and I arrived at the Canterbury facility, we were very impressed with how welcoming and bright it was. Prior to this, we had looked at other facilities. Once we saw the care that residents of Canterbury were receiving from staff, we stopped looking and felt that this was the right place for my wife.

The morning after she became a resident, I visited to see how she was doing. I had concerns which I shared with the staff. In that care unit, the residents received their meals, and were then generally placed in front of a large TV. There was no communication happening between any one of the residents at that time. I asked that my wife not be placed in front of a TV but rather have some crafts and perhaps puzzle books to challenge her. Staff listened and moved immediately to provide tables in the area for her and others to work at. Also, Life Enrichment staff made sure to take her to events that were occurring in the atrium and elsewhere in the facility. I can’t say enough about the quality and dedication of the life enrichment staff; they are amazing!

My wife responded very well to her new home and I saw a lot of improvement in her. Also, staff changed her meal location to the main dining room located beside the atrium. She was placed at a table with other residents so that she would be able to interact with them. The improvements in her life were dramatic.

During Covid, Canterbury did not experience any Covid related fatalities. Even now if any of the residents get Covid, staff act immediately to prevent the spread and to provide immediate and loving care for the individual.
