Whoever is working at head office and answering phones on May 29, 2025. Is extremely rude.

I wasn't given a pick up window. And I missed the window, fair enough. The lady who answered said the driver tried calling, tried knocking and there was no answer. I'm aware of that, I missed the pick up window and was just planning to ask if it could be rescheduled.

She then asked if I had my phone ringer off and that a voicemail was left This was all said in a rude tone and was just unnecessary at that point. And I had already told her that I did not receive a voicemail. I was no longer interested in rescheduling by that point.

This is a donation for a charity. It felt odd and disrespectful to have the face of this charity be so rude and abrupt.

It's making me think twice about donating to them, truthfully.

Edit: Read your response. Wish I could attach a photo of the email showing pick up. It does not in fact show a time. It shows a date, and that is all.
I was being treated disrespectfully about arranging a pick up donation, so I wasn't interested in rescheduling. I'm not sure why you thought I was interested in this?
My recommendation to anyone reading this is to donate to a certain centre in St. Boniface that assists new immigrants and refugees. I have had numerous donations picked up by this organization and they always call beforehand to confirm pick up time.

I love the inventory, dislike the hours. If someone works 9-5 Monday to Friday, how could/would they shop at this lovely location? Other goodwill locations are open Saturday and Sundays.
Exchange district is booming on weekends, maybe in the future you could revamp your hours?

Been a patron for over twenty years.
Great selection & prices.
Staff seem stressed & unhappy probably due to the low wages they are being paid.

when i got home i found a bed bug on a shirt i purchased :(( ive been thrifting my whole life and have never seen a bed bug until now. i dont think i’ll be coming back. super freaked 🙁 you guys might want to quarantine your mens section or something.

The fellows who came to do my pick up in early March 2022 were just AWESOME! They were prompt and worked hard and fast and did not begrudge my mountain of offerings! There was still a lot of snow on the ground and it was cold but they had big grins and set to work diligently—Goodwill must be proud of them! As for my initial phone call I was greeted with earnestness and the arranging of my pick up was super easy! I like knowing a greater percentage of sales goes to local charities than to administration!!

Pros: best thrift store for furniture in the city, and a wide variety of things.
Cons: very low selection on clothes and it’s a bit cluttered. Also, inconvenient hours

Canadian Goodwill Industries in downtown Winnipeg is an amazing non-profit organization. The staff are incredibly polite and always eager to help with anything you need. They focus on supporting the community by providing vocational services and employment opportunities for people facing challenges. The thrift store has a wide selection of donated goods, and every purchase helps fund local programs. It’s a place where you can find what you need while supporting a great cause.
