Without the Cambridge Shelter Corporation I’d probably be dead. With that being said, it’s not a 5 star hotel but the service and assistance they provide the community to the people that need help the most is by far the best in the Waterloo region. Not to mention the situation and problems they deal with on a daily basis, the workers here have a high level of tolerance. Thank you for all you do for us! The bad ratings all seem to be from people who wish the shelter wasn't here or seem to have a problem with the homeless surrounding the area. Those people are not rating the actual building, service, staff, etc... they are only thinking of themselves. Hopefully they never have to experience homelessness!

I used to volunteer here often and I think they do a great job helping those in need.

Chaotic mess in cambridge.ni unfortunately live on the hill of the shelter and bums climb up he hill onto my property daily. My house and shed have been broken into multiple times and things of valve have been taken. Would give zero stars

This is the place to be if you're experiencing homelessness.
I was treated very nicely by the staff there. Staff, like Rob, Wayne, Ben, Alison and several others, were amazing. The residents didn't bother me and they were good to me and gave me space. They were keen to know and remember my name. Food served there was excellent.
Staff took care of my needs, quickly.
If you follow the rules of the shelter, you'll be respected and treated fairly. Being homeless and needing assistance is not a fun place to be and staff do their best to alleviate the situation and improve the quality of life.

Cambridge Shelter does important work in our community. They look after the people in our community who are most vulnerable and provide them an opportunity to get back on their feet.

It is impressive to hear about the number of people they've supported in their overnight shelters, in their transitional homes, as well as in the search and advocacy for permanent housing. The staff truly care about the people in the shelter and want to see them succeed.

Of course we wish the numbers weren't so high, but that's a reflection of the bigger social issues that aren't being addressed effectively.

As a community, we need to recognize that Cambridge Shelter plays a big role in the solution for homelessness in the Waterloo Region.

If you need food, shelter, or assistance in Cambridge, this is the spot. Meals are professionally cooked with top grade ingredients. People in Cambridge seem to be afraid of this place yet it's probably the friendliest and safest place in town.

The outward appearance may seem not so desiring to the eye... But the services by the staff are so benevolent, kind, and respectful! You actually get to eat healthy food, get good sleep, showers and items donated come very very handy! Never judge a book by its cover!
