Went in after not visiting in over a year and the place is quite tired and old looking now. The card scanner to get into the vestibule doesn't work, half the building had its lights shut off including some of the entry lights.

Still, nice enough customer service but definitely has lost the polish it had when I had originally signed up.

Poor customer service and online banking is stuck in the 90’s, solution to every problem is a secure message which they only action during banking hours and supervisors do not call back in a reasonable time frame to resolve issues. Would not recommend banking with Cambrian.

Since Covid, I have had 3 situations where I needed to deal with my RBC branch. In one I walked out because no one was available to help even though there were 3 people behind the corner. In another I waited with 4 other people while one person behind the counter dealt with someone on the phone and the other did all their business with in person clients without making any eye contact - and then a loans officer came out to see if they could help with anything else!

I got to know Cambrian around an estate settlement and was always impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone in the branch was, as well as how there were never fewer than 4 people available to help behind the counter. I finally got around to opening an account for myself and am impressed by their no fee option, free cheques - RBC charged me $8.50 for one counter draft - and their tech is as up-to-date as the Big Bank. And there were still 4 people available to help behind the counter despite the Covid staff reductions that we see everywhere else.

Add to that the amount of profits that the Big Banks have taken all through Covid - Billions of dollars every quarter - and the fact that they all support oil companies and I am so happy to be dealing with a local financial institution that still treats clients like we are the reason they are here.

Brutal branch. All the other locations seem to be great. I usually drive an extra 10 minutes to the Bison location because the people at Grant are awful to work with. Incompetent, stupid and slow are the best words to describe…

On two separate occasions I have attempted to use the ATM in the lobby at Grant Park, and both times there has been a homeless man either sleeping or attempting to sleep in the lobby. How did he get in to a secure lobby ? Not only that ... I'm sure some of the elderly and single ladies would not enter the building, JUST IN CASE.
