2 stars for decorations and the great lady that was greeting at the door but thats it. My granny is 98 and they have lost 4 hearing aids since she went into care there and at one point she had one that was not even hers so technically they lost 5. They don't take any responsibility for lost items even if they are the ones that lose them

This has been a really nice place for my Mom to recuperate after a fall.
Nice staff,..very helpful,....she seems content and that's good with me .
I can actually sleep at night knowing she is in good hands.My Mom and I especially took a shine to Brad,..and will miss his smile once she returns back home.If we could take him home we would lol,.. yes!
Overall,..we think this nursing home is perhaps one of the best to be in if you need.It eliminated our 'fear of nursing homes' so to speak.It's very good,Yes.

I have a close friend living there right now and he seems to be quite happy there I haven't met all the staff but the ones I've met are nice

My friend of 25 years is in the "activation" part of Cairnsmore Place for rehab following a fracture. The Care Attendants are gracious and helpful, however there is obviously not enough of them to provide the care that is needed throughout each shift. Two on a shift for the entire area is ridiculous!

The RNS are the worst I have seen in BC! They are dismissive when approached by family or when a resident asks a question. My friend had shortness of breath. She is 79 and has COPD. I asked for oxygen as she has it ordered "PRN" the nurse wouldn't get up from his chair to help. He insisted it was by her bedside. As an RN I can assure you it was not. When I pointed this out, he continued to sit eating a snack, then informed me she is just showing low lung capacity. I'm fully aware of her status, however, a nurse should always check when someone points out SOB in a resident.

I asked another nurse for help - to check on her breathing - she was slowly giving out meds and said she was "working my way down there". two hours later she arrived, declaring the respirations were fine. After five days my friend finally got examined. She now has pneumonia and finally received oxygen.

A bedpan is left to be emptied at the end of each shift - how gross is that! There is absolutely no inclusion of the resident in the planning of her care. As she noted, "I don't see why they don't talk with me about my care". I wouldn't send anyone to this dump.

I'd give them a five star but I had a hard time finding the exit.otherwise it was ok.
