Wonderful, caring, non-judgmental people providing food, assistance with OW and ODSP, and medical care for the homeless (and homed), even if they are clearly under the influence of something. A very safe place to go. Bless all of you!! ?

The staff here are friendly and welcoming. They have a daily food program Monday to Friday to feed the less fortunate, and they have free medical doctors for people who are in need of them.

I was seen quickly by Dr. Ho and his staff, who went above and beyond to help me with my health care and forms. I will definitely be going back to see them.

This place offers help to those in need, from daily breakfast and lunch, to showers and laundry. Well done volunteers! You make a difference in people's lives when they're stuck with nothing.

Please be aware many people bring items to be of help. Being spoken to curtly, told many items are not being accepted, having it suggested we go through the donations outdoors/outside of the facility (I understand not wanting people in the building, but it seemed to be a problem to try to donate clean, folded clothes and backpacks), made us feel more of a nuisance than a help. We have donated in honor of a family member several times and this experience did not feel the items were welcome. We will continue to look for places to donate that seem as open to accepting items as Back Door Mission used to be.

I'd like to apologize to Back Door Mission for such a terrible review, stated because of a few bad experiences that have substantially improved. After going over what is available, the quality of food has become better, and more to a filling portion. There is a sleep area, an entire Sanctuary also, to rest in, and even play music in, if it does not infringe on the comfort of others. They have clothing several times a week, extra food available on those days, including toiletries. There are bathrooms, but logically, to use them, as some have abused, there is a rule of removal of items, including the bulk of wear such as jackets. You may keep your phone and identification on you, and this ensures no issues for anyone, as they're safe in a clean plastic bin securely.
You may eat inside, there is also medical help, support contact to find a rental, or direction to contact any worker. This is a place amenities, it conveniences many in situations. I've even heard of a young man sobering up after a security guard saved his life, and that help to me is worth more than a five stars rating, it's priceless. I'm changing my rating unusually dramatic because I've had a change of experience at this location, one I'm thankful for.

Absolutely horrible, services are unorganized and the people who work there are clueless
If referred to the doctor you are forced to stand outside for hours, with homeless people who are unable to keep to themselves, touching your belongings, and verbally abusing you. It’s not a safe place.
The building itself has little or no security and has no directions where to go or how to access the building.
This place needs a different kind of access plan, there shouldn’t be one line for everyone

From St. Vincent's Kitchen to the Backdoor Mission...this place is incredible!! I was able to choose my table because I was early to the door, and the Staff are AMAZING!! And the FOOD....well how does this sound on the first real winter day, Chicken Vegetable soup, a fresh dinner rool, and a salad, the main course with Chicken a vegetable and potatoes however prepared, and a water, juice and coffee or tea. Then for dessert, apple pie, cookies or something of your choice. And one more tea and I was in my way. But they didn't let me leave without a bag that had treats for the day and a it was packed full of fresh baked breads buns and croissants!! You couldn't get batter at a 5 star Hotel! Great Work Everyone!!!️
