I recently visited Airdrie Emergency with my 10-year-old daughter who was feeling quite unwell, and I want to commend the staff for their outstanding care and compassion. From the moment we arrived, everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding, especially considering how scared and uncomfortable my daughter was. The nurses and staff were gentle and attentive, making sure she felt as comfortable as possible during our visit.

That said, the wait time was definitely a challenge. We waited 4 hours to get into a room and another 2 hours to see a doctor. While I understand emergencies can cause delays, it would make a world of difference if the wait times were shorter. If not for the lengthy wait, this would absolutely be a 5-star experience.

I want to thank the entire team for their professionalism and the excellent care they provided once we were seen. The staff truly went above and beyond despite the pressures of a busy emergency department."

The triage, doctors, and nurses were incredibly kind. It was quite a wait but that's not affecting my review because that's the case everywhere and not exactly their fault that more people get sick / injured during the holidays. Dr was really attentive, had an amazing bedside manner, and didn't give up!!! I half expected them to tell us to go to a bigger hospital when the shoulder refused to set but they kept at it and with a different approach were ultimately successful. Wonderful team, thank you for all your help and effort.

I came into this urgent care centre last night at about 3am with my 1.5 year old baby. The doctor and some of the nurses were great. But unfortunately there were a few nurses and a mean lady at the x ray desk that were quite unprofessional and rude. We waited there five hours and the last thing you need is staff with terrible attitudes. I wish I could say it was a good experience but it really wasn’t. I hope that things will get improved there, I would imagine that they are understaffed and probably burnt out. There is a sign there that says to not be rude or disrespectful to the staff, there should also be one for staff to not be rude and disrespectful to patients as well.

This place honestly has no business even being in operation.

From the moment you walk in, you get interrogated by security. To the triage, who don't even listen or triage properly (former MOA and unit clerk). The only decent person was the singular nurse. Whoever the doctor was, got incredibly snarky and passive once told my mother, who is disabled and has fixed income, could not afford $103 and $22 immediately out of pocket for an air cast and a set of crutches. This "doctor" wrapped the broken bone so incorrectly that we have had to get it corrected - spent 7 hours in the hospital, most of which was spent in the waiting room. Waiting for people who came in with colds to go through. Foothills has had to correct a job that should have been done properly the first time. Besides the terrible bedside manners and borderline malpractice, the facility is incredibly dirty.

I would save your time in the long run and just go to an actual hospital, not this hole in the wall wannabe urgent care facility.

Incredibly outrageous experience here. I took the time to read other reviews here and am at least relieved to see others have been unfairly treated at this clinic. The moment I sat down with the triage nurse, she became aggressive. Having just moved from Ontario, she was more concerned with the fact that I didn't have an Alberta driver's license than the fact that I was coughing up blood—while waiting in line, I should add. Before I could finish explaining my symptoms, she interrupted me to ask if I had taken Advil/Tylenol. I have had a persistent fever for 6 days and had not taken Advil recently, as I had been multiple times a day and felt it was too much and at this point should have been recovered. Then, she interrupts me AGAIN to rudely state, "What do you expect us here to do for you exactly if you think you know better than to not take Advil/Tylenol?" Good question! That's why I visited a healthcare "professional," no? I did call her out for her aggressiveness, and thankfully the other nurse was very kind. My only regret was not getting her name, as a lot of other reviews reflect this same negative experience...I would bet that she does this often. I have a feeling she is mentally unwell and unfit for her position. I was truly taken aback. To the wonderful nurse who was helpful—thank you. But, I still cannot recommend anyone visit this "care" centre. To be concerned with your health and having to suffer ignorant fools such as herself who attempt to verbally attack you is ridiculous. My advice to her: become an accountant instead.

I’m incredibly disappointed with the lack of urgency and care at Airdrie Community Centre. We came in because my brother was repeatedly vomiting, and despite his obvious distress, we ended up waiting for an agonizing 7 hours. Staff seemed indifferent to his condition, and there was no sense of priority for his worsening symptoms. I understand that many people in the waiting room were suffering from serious illnesses, but that shouldn’t mean everyone has to wait so long. The receptionists/nurses kept telling people that their pain wasn't severe enough and that those who were "sicker" would be prioritized. But how could they really measure the pain and urgency of each individual? On top of that, we were informed there were only a few beds and one doctor available. In my opinion, this is unacceptable, especially in an emergency setting where urgent care is crucial. Waiting that long without a sense of urgency was extremely frustrating and stressful for both him and our family. If you're in need of urgent care, I’d think twice before coming here; this experience was far from what I’d expect from a healthcare facility.

Anyone complaining about having to wait hours while in urgent care for a non-life threatening ailment must never have been in urgent care before. The staff were kind and understanding, and respectful. I am glad it is open 24 hours now, to save the drive into Calgary

My only concern is the standing while waiting to be triaged. So people are sick right. That's why they go. People are standing for over an hour. One lady was on the floor, she couldn't breath. This is unacceptable. Why not set up a number. So take a number, sit down, the nurse calls your number then go to triage. Then sit until Doctor calls you in. Please don't make sick people stand for that long.
