I wouldn't house my dog there. An old family friend, who has dementia, was moved there in January. I went to visit her last night and was absolutely appalled by the conditions.
First off, I'd phoned ahead to confirm that I could visit. When I got to the front desk I was told by the man sitting there that she wasn't there. I called his line to prove to him that that was the same place that I talked to someone earlier, who said she was there. I spelled out her name on paper for him in frustration and he punched in a completely different set of letters and again said she wasn't there. I had to take over his computer for him to prove to him that she was indeed there. It's almost like they don't want any visitors.
When I found her in the common area, She was clinging to a face cloth saying she needed it to wipe herself. When I went to her room, found that she had no toilet paper in her bathroom, nor soap by her sink. When I asked the staff about it, they told me the lady in the neighboring room always carries her own toilet paper around and likely takes it from the room. .Well the lady in the neighboring room was sitting on the toilet rolling around an empty roll of toilet paper, also looking for it and distressed that she had nothing to wipe with. I fetched some for her and put it in the toilet roll and it made her so happy because she had been wandering around for several months looking for a toilet with toilet paper. So sad to take that kind of dignity away from people.
Her bed had no blanket just a thin, very crumpled up sheet. When I asked staff, I was taken to a room to pick a blanket from a bunch of gross old blankets. I found the best one I could, and put it on her bed for her.
They seem very short staffed there. The ladies that I spoke to were very kind and helpful in the common area but the attention in the individual rooms definitely needs to improve significantly.
They don't have a library, there were no books, games, puzzles or coloring supplies anywhere to be found. They had already had their dinner but there didn't seem to be any snacks or fruit on offer in the evening.
I think I would shoot myself in the head before I let anybody put me in there.

They have been nothing but compassionate and kind with my parent. Leaps and bounds better than any other facility I've seen and my parents have resided at. They really do seem to care for the best interest of the resident and their families. My parent is doing much better than in the last facility they were in. I would recommend it to anyone needing care. Clean, updated, with a lot of good spaces, including outdoor spaces, as well as activities and shared accommodations. The vibe is relaxed and calm, unlike the last place my parents lived. That was a horror show by comparison. Really don't understand the rating being as low as it is. I trust the staff here implicitly.

Compassionate care really sucks
When your family member is on their death bed and they won’t allow more than two people in the room. Where is the compassion in this.
Some nurses and health care aids are good but some others need to get better bed side manners and be more compassionate to the patient.
Really wouldn’t refer anyone here.

Kind of confused…

What’s the point of disconnecting the call button & bed pressure pad for a patient that has a tendency to fall?

poor management, lack of quality care, rude staff, no workplace morale, would not recommend anyone placing a relative there...
