Darlene and her team are so wonderful! I had adopted my loving fur baby Smokey through them and the process was so seamless. Everything went so well that we ended up adopting sweet Maggie for my grandmother as well😸 ACR truly has the most amazing cats whom have such great care while in their hands waiting for their furever homes. I always recommend adoption and specifically this rescue as they truly do care so much for their animals. Thank you ACR for adding 2 of the best fur babies to our families 💖😸

We adopted Phoenix (previously known as hope) almost a year ago. Phoenix is honestly the most perfect cat we have ever met. She is super unique with her short tail, fluffy fur, and unique colouring.
The process of adopting her did not take long at all! She lived with a foster who was such a nice person!
We will continue supporting this rescue!

We recently adopted Elvis from Abandoned Cats Rescue. The process was easy, professional and seamless. The love and care that he had received from both the organization and his foster mum was evident. He is an amazing kitten, friendly and energetic. In excellent health and extremely well adjusted. Thank you so much for a great experience. We will definitely recommend you to friends.

ATTENTION: I RECENTLY ADOPTED A CAT FROM TAMMYS RESCUE THAT WAS PLACED UP FOR ADOPTION AT PET SMART ON STONE CHURCH RD. THE CAT WAS LABELED A KITTEN OF 8 MONTHS AND I ADOPTED THIS SWEET LITTLE GUY. I BROUGHT HIM TO THE VET ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER BECAUSE HE WAS VOMITING AND WAS EXTREMELY ILL. THE VET TELLS ME HE IS ACTUALLY OLDER THAN 10 YEARS AND IS SUFFERING FROM SEVERE KIDNEY DISEASE . HE WAS NOT VETTED AT ALL FROM TAMMYS RESCUE AND I FEEL EXTREMELY SAD THAT THIS CAT DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROPER TREATMENT BEFORE I ADOPTED HIM. I AM NOW TREATING HIM WITH MEDS THE BEST WAY I CAN BUT I KNOW THIS RESCUE IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CATS HEALTH OR WELL-BEING. PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND GET YOUR CATS PROPERLY VETTED SO THEY CAN RECEIVE PROPER TREATMENT IMMEDIATELY. STOP MISLEADING PEOPLE TO ADOPT AND NOT ALLOW CATS TO GET THE CARE THEY DESERVE. THIS IS SO CRUEL WHAT YOU ARE DOING. MY CAT NOW HAS TO BE PUT DOWN AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. SHAME ON YOU FOR MAKING A LIVING OFF OF THE BACKS OF INNOCENT ANIMALS.

Let me start by saying I have a lot of respect for anyone that rescues animals. That's what I like about this rescue, they help animals. They seem to choose the right fosters as the foster parents I met were extremely nice as well. Their house was nice, clean, and the cats they owned and their fosters were very well cared for. They had a lot of supplies as well.

Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends. I believe this rescue class judges people.

I've owned animals my whole life and when I moved in with my boyfriend, I had three cats, a small dog, and a bearded dragon. They are very well cared for and always have high quality supplies. My oldest cat unfortunately passed away in 2018 due to incurable liver + kidney failure and my dog passed just this past November due to a heart condition that was no longer taking to medication.

Despite this, the rescue told me we were denied the kittens because of how expensive pet ownership is. They clearly don't think we can financially handle it even though we stated we have savings and everything. They could have easily checked in with our vet to get a reference for how well we care for our animals but didn't. I believe it's because I mentioned I was on financial aid for a medical condition. My boyfriend is a full-time manager but I guess that wasn't good enough for them.

We live in a decent sized apartment which I also think factored in the class judgment. As I said, the fosters lived in a pretty big house. I asked for an in-home inspection but was told they don't do that. That's fine, but to tell me we don't have room for kittens without even seeing the size of our apartment first is off-putting. I would have easily given them a virtual tour.

They also told me my cats are "too old" for kittens. Yes, my cats are turning 11 and 13 this year but even the vet has said they don't look old at all... They are pretty good for their ages and I've never heard that two kittens can't be adopted into a home with older cats. Especially if introduced slowly.

All together, I can't recommend this rescue to people unless you live in a big house, make a lot of money, and don't already have animals.

I'd like to point out I did try emailing back about their decision to ask if there was some sort of miscommunication but they never responded. I totally understand wanting the animals to go to the best homes but not every "great home" has to be a 2-storey house where they make six figures a year.

I've included a picture of my current kitties as well.

I was going to bring 2 cats for a friend to this facility; it ended up working better for my schedule etc to bring to the SPCA - which someone kindly footed the bill for.
Darlene was orinigally helpful and did find them a foster home to go to, however every time I thought things were set up and good to go I'd get an email with 10 more questions about the cats - which really could've been part of the initial process.
I found the communication bothersome as it would take days for a reply, and as stated previously the unending questions that could have been handled. I was also informed after the fact that they have volunteers to pick up the cats - which again, should have been stated from the start.
I had emailed her to let her know I was taking the cats to the SPCA (for convenience reasons) and I received a nasty voicemail bashing SPCA and what I'm doing is horrible - which I'm just trying to make sure they don't end up on the street for a friend. I did call back and apologized for the last minute change and thanked them for the help - but it was rudely accepted and I was hung up on.
