Buyer beware.

When I ordered the pool house, I was given a ship date of the first week of July. Manufacturing kept getting delayed. It was delivered today, September 19th. I won’t be able to use it this year.

Because of the delay, Summerwood’s fault, shipping increased from $2000 to $4000. They “generously” offered to split the cost. With no allowance for cancellation and refund, I paid the $1000 on top of other increased charges from mistakes they made in their estimate, which I paid.

I ordered a “pre-assembled” kit. Here’s a picture of what I got. They nailed together a few of the 2’ x 6’s for some of the floor and sides. As my contractor said, this is no one’s definition of pre-assembled. It will now cost me thousands more to build.

And finally, when the truck leaves, the company takes no responsibility for missing or damaged parts. There are thousand of parts. If 100 were missing, it would be impossible to tell. You’re supposed to count hundreds and hundreds of slats and shingles to ensure they didn’t miss any?

In the end, it would have been faster and cheaper to have had my contractor build this from scratch. If you do decide to order from Summerwood, add months and thousands of dollars to their estimate and don’t pay thousands extra for “pre-assembled.”

We needed to replace our 30 year old gazebo and visited the Summerwood showroom. We were very impressed with the quality and styles offered. I especially like the "no screws" floor, 2 x 6 roof design, and 2 x6 railing. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable because he had actually worked in the plant and knew how the products are made. We customized the cupola to be the larger Victorian with the Monterey base. We ordered the kit and what a treat when it arrived, a bit earlier than promised and as big as my car! The logistics people were very helpful in keeping us informed of the production schedule. We hired a carpenter to help us assemble it, and that was a very good idea. The quality of the cedar is beautiful. We had a few questions about the installation process and got answers right away from the engineer. Overall it was a wonderful purchase. It is now fully stained, fits perfectly in our back yard, with new decorative curtains, lights, and updates to the furniture. Everyone who sees it is delighted. We enjoy morning coffee, often lunch and always relaxing evenings in the gazebo. We are fortune to not have bugs and did not order the screen package. We get to breath in the fresh air while listening to the crickets and frogs and birds. Thanks to the team at Summerwood for a great product that has added value to our property for many years to come.

Fabulous quality. I love my Gazebo. Here in Atlanta, it will be 4 seasons. My 12’ San Cristobal was easy to assemble, well constructed, and gorgeous. The folks at Summerwood were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Worth every penny.

The name "Summerwood Products" came up during our research for a fast and high-quality shed that could be assembled at our cottage. We also found that the prices from local shops were too high and their timelines inconvenient. I wanted to handle the construction myself despite having limited experience in this area.

The sales process, assisted by Gareth, went smoothly, and we placed an order for the precut Sonoma model shed. Upon delivery, construction began. I received a comprehensive set of drawings, step-by-step instructions, and access to Summerwood's helpful instructional videos on their website.

Additionally, their customer service representative, Ray, was exceptional in addressing all my questions and provided prompt, excellent support throughout the process.

The materials were shipped complete, accompanied by an inventory list, ensuring a worry-free construction process. The precut pieces were precisely measured, saving me significant time and reducing dust and construction waste at the site. This was a solo project for me, as I couldn’t secure a helper, except for assistance with the concrete slab and the metal roof. The framing and wall assembly were tasks I managed entirely on my own.
Two months later, the shed was fully built. Would I take on a precut project like this by myself again? Probably not—it was physically challenging and time-consuming, especially at my age. For anyone considering a similar project, I would recommend exploring preassembled or installed options if the budget allows and ensuring a helper is available throughout the process.

That said, my overall experience was incredibly rewarding—I’m happy, happy, happy! I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Summerwood team for their excellent product and outstanding support throughout the entire process.
