My wife and I recently found this hidden gem of a conservation area. We went for an Easter Sunday walk and we were met with groomed trails and wonderful scenery. We went for a wonderful hour long walk. All of this for no cost whatsoever.

Always such a relaxed and grounding place to take a walk. The trails are neatly manicured and well marked.

This was a park we visited after photographing rare geese close by. I looked on maps to see how we could full out the rest of the day. We hiked for a few hours at AmTaquanyah and ran out of daylight. We returned the following 2 weekend and explored. What a great place to get away from crowds in the woods and enjoy a quiet , peaceful day with plenty of birds to photograph. We were there end of March to start of April. Trails were well maintained and could get muddy during a rainy period, as all trails are. Highly recommended hike location.

Really beautiful trails with a great mix of scenery. Paths take you over water, through forests and by fields. Never seems to be too busy. Only downside is the trails are in TERRIBLE shape. There are bridges over water that are rotting, with huge gaps in the boards. Wooden paths over the forest floor are covered in huge, fallen trees. As long as you’re EXTREMELY careful navigating and pretty nimble, it’s still really nice. However, when walking with a dog and my mom it just didn’t feel safe. Not at all accessible and the lack of maintenance make simple trails unnecessarily challenging.

Trails mostly in full sun. Ducks and very loud frogs in spring. Carolinian trail closed April May June July...reopens Aug 1 (2024, not sure if that is every year). Beautiful wetland.

LOTS of ticks, even now in November. This is probably the worst place to hike that I've ever been to. One star is being generous.
