I was looking forward to what I had heard was reliable and fast internet for rural Manitobans, so I placed the call and spoke to a wonderful sales rep. Then it all goes downhill..
30-60 days before it can be installed.
Approximately 30 days later, I get an E-mail from their survey department stating I would be contacted when cable locates would be done. Okay, cool, I expected that.
3 weeks later-ish, I get another E-Mail saying that they aren't installing to Wawanesa at this time. They literally have an employee who lives in Wawanesa, so I'm wondering if it can't be installed here, who is the ISP for that employee? Is their service so bad that their own employees won't use it? Has it already been installed to the town, but only part of it? Why would the original sales rep be giving me both, false hope, and false information - as well as the survey department? Seems like a pretty poor business model. But after reading more negative reviews, I can see I dodged a bullet.

Internet had been fine, then i received a note from them that they are offering some new great service at x amount per month. I thought mine was fine and didn't respond and now my service is slower .. so pay to keep the same or we'll slow you down is the real message - shitty!!

I had a rep come by my house back in Mar/Apr and tell me about RFNow. I was excited because I'm looking to switch from StarLink and support a local Canadian business. I will say that everyone I have spoken to on the phone was very nice and helpful, but honestly the company needs to get it together when it comes to installs and wasting people's time.

After scheduling the install twice (and booking time off work to make it happen), I'm done trying to be their customer. The first time the tech showed up exactly on time, was friendly, then left after about 10 min. After about an hour I called him as asked if he was coming back as I had to go back to work, and was told they weren't able to complete the install that day. Months later (no word from them in between, I had to call to see what's going on) I have the install scheduled again, and this time the tech just didn't show up. At 45 minutes past when they were supposed to be there I gave up and went to work.

I guess I'll be (unfortunately) sticking with StarLink.

the fiber internet isnt worth $165 a month. Reliable enough but having lots of minor issues with DNS or some such. Had a 2 month stretch where it wasnt usable for gaming and when watching videos or streams it often gets errors. Troubleshoot everything on my end extensively leaving the ISP as most likely the issue. Again, not the worst ISP in the world, but really over priced.

Have been using RF Now for the last couple years and was very good up until this spring with multiple outages in the last few months. The website does not update when the internet is down which is frustrating especially when you cannot get a hold of them after hours. You are without internet throughout the evening and overnight until they open in the morning. Storms do seem to affect the service although I can’t be positive. Better than satellite but for fibre optic I would think there would be less outages.

I have been signed up for 14 months and RF now still hasn’t been able to hook up my internet. Call Sasktel and they can help me next week. Don’t waste your time with RF now. Been on and off the phone with them for months, providing me with 0 updates and would constantly just extend install dates by a month at a time.

connectivity seems reliable so far - worry about some farmer with an excavator digging up your lines in the road allowances and cutting us all off (which likely won't be a quick fix)?! I think the buried cable markers need to be more prominent and more of them!

Speed and reliability, Henry’s attention to customers. Great service in rural areas where others have been able to provide connectivity. Excellent community based approach.
