Recently, I joined the citizenship sessions at CCSYR & It really helped me. Dariia Korobova & Tim Who provide this weekly session are such a nice human being. They’re helpful, kind and respectful. I really enjoy my time being with those ppl & develop my knowledge by learning new stuff each time. We read the book Discover Canada chapter by chapter & we do a test mock each week. I highly recommend this session to those who are planning to apply for Canadian citizenship. It improves your knowledge & getting you ready for the test. Thanks very much Dariia & Tim for your support & time. Much appreciated

In Praise of CCSYR: A Tree of Compassion, Rooted in Humanity

In an era where words often wear thin from hollow repetition, there still exist places where meaning lives—places where kindness, humanity, and hope are not just spoken but practiced. CCSYR is one of those rare places—not merely a support center, but a sanctuary for those who have survived war and destruction, poverty and exile, torture and silence.

CCSYR is like a tree that has grown strong in the wounded soil of migration. A tree whose branches offer rest, whose shade brings peace, and whose fruits nourish the spirit with hope.

Here, women serve who are each, in their own way, a beam of light. Najma, whose name means “star,” has a heart that holds galaxies. Sahar is the dawn that breaks the long night of despair. Lida smiles in a language understood by all. Banafsheh brings the scent of spring into the long winters of exile. Tina sees pain through gentle eyes and answers it with care. And Dr. Homaira, with wisdom and empathy, plants the seeds of dignity in tired souls.

But this beautiful ensemble goes far beyond these names. There is a woman from India, whose patient smile speaks louder than words. A Korean woman, who translates not just language, but emotion and understanding. A Turkish-speaking woman, whose heart is bigger than borders. And many, many more—visible and invisible—who walk quietly, yet light the way for others.

And these are only a few among a larger gathering—women of every nation, every culture, every faith, all speaking one common language: the language of empathy.

CCSYR is not a small point on a map—it is a vast continent of humanity etched in the hearts of many. For those who carry the memory of displacement, poverty, or persecution, CCSYR is like a spring in the desert. A spring that not only quenches thirst, but revives the soul, restores belief, and reminds us of the forgotten parts of ourselves.

In a time when profit has taken the place of compassion, this organization has built its endurance on the timeless pillars of human value: solidarity, dignity, fairness, and love. And this love is not a slogan—it flows through the fiery kindness in the staff’s eyes, in the hands that cradle the newborns of hope, in the words that, like bread, warm and sustain.

To all those who work at CCSYR—bless you. With the smallest resources, you create the greatest miracles. You are not just earthbound angels—you are guardians of the human spirit in an age of forgetting.

You have taught us that home is not always a place on a map. Sometimes, home is the smile of someone who reaches for you—without conditions, without fear—just love.
