My experience with QMUNITY has been incredibly frustrating.

Last summer, I tried numerous times (unsuccessfully) to contact the facilitators for a few support groups I was interested in joining, but not one of them responded to me. After weeks of silence, I sent an email to their admin. They replied, telling me that it can take a while for facilitators to respond, and that since many of the groups only occur monthly, they often wait until about a week before the group to check/respond to emails.

So, I waited. I kept checking my email, even my spam. The groups came and went....several times. That was in the summer of 2024. It's January now. I gave up a while ago.

I find that really frustrating that the facilitators couldn't be bothered to check their emails and send me a reply. All I wanted was a Zoom link so I could join the groups. I understand they can't check their emails everyday, but I'd expect them to review their emails/reply at least once every few weeks.

I may have not been so bothered by this if it wasn't related to LGBTQ support groups. I think that for groups for marginalized folks, there needs to be communication to help them access the groups.

If the facilitators are so busy that they can't be bothered to respond to people inquiring about their groups, then maybe someone else should be handling inquiries. Or...maybe just don't facilitate groups? How do they expect people to join their groups? There's nothing more frustrating than an inaccessible resource.

Ester gave me a free binder and three free tickets to a transgender art show. It was lit! I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a positive gender identity experience.

while this location is completely inaccessible to those with mobility impairment, its still nice for them to have a location in the midst of the gay village. most of their services have been moved to their newer location near burrard, though, so be careful to check.

Very supportive of the LGBTQ+ community in Vancouver. The Bute Street clinic operates out of this location if you need to get 'the equipment' checked out.
