Great hardware store, been doing business there for years, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Yesterday was a different experience tho as I was the recipient of a random act of kindness from the owner as she saw me admiring a very expensive tool box and decided she was going to give it to me as a Christmas gift. I have never had anything like this happen to me, wow luck me and such a nice thing to do! God bless.

Anyone that needs to read a review of GBS hasn't lived on the coast very long.? This is one of the long lived companies on the coast. They have a huge inventory from hardware to lumber and two stores to serve you (Gibsons and Sechelt) local family owned, well regarded employees who I understand are looked after properly. And they have in house experts on several trades and products

6 out of 10 visits go really well.
Staff always attempt to be super helpful!!
Small community..don't expect them to have the expertise, sound, clear advice you are seeking. Do your research before hand. Arm yourself with the proper precise questions you seek clarity on.
Lastly double check your bill of sale.

What a great building supply company. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, in all of the departments (sales desk, shipping and out in the yard). Great that GBS will accommodate special orders of items that are not normally in stock (for me this has been a great time saver). Wonderful company!

They're doing a great job but very busy and just barely have enough staff. Always bummed that they're closed on Sundays. Would be great to have a few hours for DIY projects
