This fire hall was designed by a famous architect in the mid 70’s and was groundbreaking and edgy at the time and is still relevant today. I remember living in Sherwood Park at the time it was being built and it was cool.

Opened October 23, 1975.
Station #1 used to be the headquarters station for Strathcona County Emergency Services. On January 20, 2014, all Chief Officers, administrative support, Occupational Health, Safety and Training, Emergency Management and Fire Prevention and Investigation moved to Fire Station 6 .
Emergency Communications, Materials Management and Operations are located at Station #1.
The station is closed to the public.

I'm hoping I got the right fire station. On October 8th I was in a car accident on Anthony Henday. One off duty EMT (I don't remember the Angels name ) assessed site and had us out of the car immediately as something was leaking from my vehicle. He helped me breathe through my shock and pain until EMS arrived. I will not forget how he comforted me.
The EMT's Mike and Josh were so wonderful to me. Long ride to UAH Hosp but kept relatively comfortable with the meds on board. Very attentive, compassionate young men.
I would trust you both with
My life.
Ended with a 2 day stay on trauma unit with fractured sternum and acute pancreatitis probably from seat belt.

A big thank you to Captain Mike who helped my mother and my almost 10 year old jack russel named Tucker, they both were some what lost and well the fire department came to the rescue, nobody was injured.
