They're very flexible, just make sure you follow the rules and get there before closing time (4pm weekdays, closed on weekends) and you should have no problem. They're VERY strict about letting people in past four, don't even bother arguing, it's not going to happen. Be polite and you'll be treated the same.

EDIT 01-21-2025: Rating lowered from 5 to 3. Being an IT Tech I decided to just open the desktop once as I was bored and found out their systems are unbelievably insecure. If I wanted to (which I NEVER would, lets be clear) I could access that very computer from my house at any time I wanted, giving me access to every other device that's connected to that specific network in any way. This is what we call a Zero Day Exploit waiting to happen. I've told the "Security Guard" about this three times. First time was a quick rundown as I was in a rush. Next month, same thing, same zero day. I actually took the time to explain to this security guard (because not a single window (workers) cared) that with the way their computers are currently set up, I could take control of the entire Ministry and all proceeding locations over the internet, giving me the possibility of planting something like RANSOMWARE on the computers, affecting (I would guess) 10,000-30,000 government PC/Laptops OVERNIGHT. Next month, nothing done. Asked if he told them, said the manager didn't care.

I'm astounded. Screw it, let the BC Social Development system get ransomed for millions of dollars. Not my fault, I tried.

Rude, disinterested, apathetic and indolent are the adjectives that describe the agents I had to interact with (Sharon being one of them). I never imagined having to go through such trauma and disgust when interacting with such arrogant and disrespectful people. They are working for a public that they cannot stand or care about. I would like to not have to be in the current situation of depending on assistance and having to live the experience of being treated like garbage. They do not delimit case by case, if you have an altercation with them they do not even allow you to defend yourself and they put you on a network or black list giving the rest of the agents the right, even by phone, to mistreat you and abuse their position.

They don't care if you're dying they don't care if you're starving they will let you die at their doorstep rather than help you. Food banks can't help because they can't feed everyone. Churches can't help because there's too many people going they're asking for food. Can't buy food because the prices have tripled. I have gone 3 days now without food two days before that just bread and water. I have six more days till my check they told me to starve and eat nothing for the next 6 days. Canada has lost their way they help every other country but their own. Low income housing you pay 450 to 500 in rent ( I don't have I pay $700). Yet they only give $375 for rent so 85% of what we get. HOW CAN WE EAT? Then you wonder why there's so many people living on the streets and in jail for theft because they have to feed themselves. They are making it so society has to go to the resorts of stealing and putting themselves in jail to have a roof over their head and food.

None of the workers here have name tags so I'm not able to put the ladies name down, I'll have to describe her instead. She has mid length blonde hair, aged mid 50s to early 60's, chubby in stature, light tan skin.

I wish I could write a positive review about this place but my experiences here make that impossible. The workers suffer from compassion fatigue, likely from dealing with marginalized people all day. They didn't seem to care about any of the problems with my account. When I was finally able to fix the problems, the lady mentioned above came over. She wasn't the teller who was working with me, she was administration staff and wasn't involved at all. She then proceeded to demand more paperwork and asked a lot of very personal questions about me, my dissability and my recent car accident.

None of this had anything to do with my account, or the reason I was visiting the office. When I asked her why she needed this information she told me I was legally obliged to tell her about any income I make. I haven't been working since the accident so I haven't had any income to report. She demanded print outs of my bank statements, but refused to tell me how back dated she would like them. She asked me how I was able to afford a vehicle, I explained that I used my savings and she accused me of receiving payout from ICBC and not reporting it to the ministry.

I wish there was a way to make direct complaints about her as her conduct was incredibly rude, and her pointed questions we're very intrusive.

Not an lbgt+ inclusive environment, can't walk in with my spouse to do paperwork together without being referred to as their "friend." Be wary if you're sensitive to this type of behavior.
