I take my daughter here for swimming lessons. The lessons are overall great, but the staff that worked there mainly the front desk are completely clueless and very unhelpful. It is very poorly run. We’ll definitely debate using them again for swimming.

Absolute Horrible treatment to My 9yr old autistic daughter and wife!!!
They went there for the Public swim, my Level 3 autistic daughter was not permitted to swim in the deep end with (BESIDE) My wife (mother) because she wouldn't do.a swim test.
My daughter unfortunately is non verbal.
And DOES know how to swim.
Because she was not permitted in the deep end, she tried to run to get to it.
They were kicked out because she is running and was a safety concern, which is understandable.
However, the woman, her name is Hope, couldn't just leave it at kicking them out, instead had to power trip and follow them into the change room continuing to harass /antagonizing them.
Would not let them change put of swimsuits and telling them they need to leave.
They Were TRYING TO LEAVE!!
Let alone physically pushing my wife to guide her to the door
it is winter and this woman expects them to leave in wet bathing suits!!!
This was totally uncalled for.
Let alone trying to escalate the situation further.
And if you are reading this Hope,
I truly hope you feel proud of yourself!!!
My daughter came home crying and was not easy to come to terms with the situation YOU created!!!
Let alone being confrontational the way you were, I hope that Karma catches up with you in the near future!!!
And I'm sure it will if you treat everybody this way!!!

I am very grateful to YMCA and Aamina Habib who helped me in so many ways. I got connected to YMCA about a month ago. I received a job offer in Tim Hortons as a restaurant supervisor in Nipigon, a small town near Thunderbay. It is a very small and a remote place. There are no buses no uber or any kind of public transport and I do not have a driver’s license. I shared this problem with Aamina and she suggested I can apply for a grant for a e-bike. I applied and it finally got approved. Thanks to her !! She worked really hard to get this approved for me and guided me throughout the process. Not only this she also helped me with non slip shoes .
I am very grateful to YMCA and especially Aamina to help me out in this tough situation.

Friendly staff, great facilities and an overall positive vibe. Had fun playing pickleball and using the gym. Will visit Midland again!

We use to enjoy visiting here up until recently when we witnessed the head lifeguard mistreating young children learning to swim. She’d grab children aggressively, pin their arms by their sides while bringing them out deeper and putting their faces in the water, yelling at parents and telling them to leave and come back after the lesson with no real rhyme or reason, or not paying attention to them at all during the lesson to where their heads were underwater. It was absolutely sickening to watch. Multiple kids and multiple parents this happened to on numerous occasions with this lifeguard. I have no idea why they have someone like that employed there teaching kids to swim.

Staff was friendly and they have all the equipment for a good workout. Place was cleaner compared to my previous visits, especially in the change room. The decision to swap out the hot tub for a steam room was a good one.
