A worthy cause for Hamilton Mountain. A Charity at a Community level. How can you help Neighbour to Neighbour? There are many ways, at JKR Financial we started with having a team for Coldest Night of the Year.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The owner/manager is such a mean person and she has so much attitude and is extremely ignorant. Work hours say until 7:30 for dropping donations and we were standing outside for 20 minutes knocking on the door and she and another staff member saw us and fully ignored us. When they were leaving at 730 she said we don’t take donations after 7 even though both the website and DOOR sign say 7:30 for donations. We told her we were knocking and she said okay? Then I said so why does the website say 730 she said “don’t know.” With the most amount of attitude. Then proceeded to make us walk with the heavy box to the wrong door just to shut it on our face and go open the other one. We saw someone outside who wanted food and they said the owner is really mean and rude to those that come and ask for donations. Not to mention, the place is filthy and super unorganized on the inside. 0/10 and we will be looking for other food banks in the future. I hope someone who is better suited for this position can take over.

If you don’t have a shred of human decency, you should not be working at an organization meant to help people in need. We came to drop off some food that we had collected through a food drive, we got there about 20mins before their stated closing time, rang the doorbell, knocked on the door, and called their phone. People were present inside, saw me knocking on the window and still ignored me and walked away. When they left the building, we were able to flag them down but was met with the utmost amount of attitude. I understand people can have off days, however we should not have be simply dismissed after a two sentence encounter. Finally, very unwillingly, they opened the door and accepted our food donations.

I wish we had donated to a food bank that gave the reassurance that those that need this food, will receive it.

Their website and sign on the door says that donations are accepted until 7:30pm on Thursdays, but this is not true at all. We had arrived ~7:15pm to drop off food donations and they refused to open the door to drop off our donations. Workers were inside and ignored us. When the workers got off their shift, we had flagged them down for help and they gave us attitude stating that it was past 7:30pm. Once we had stated that we have been here since 7:15pm attempting to ring the doorbell to donate food, they said that they do not open the door for donations past 7pm due to lack of staff. We had stated that they should update their website and sign on the door as this is not okay. Then they finally begrudgingly accepted our food donations. Overall, not the best experience as people who are trying to help out the community by donating.

Our community food bank supports families in need across Hamilton Mountain. They provide a number of other community supports and programs. To donate non-perishable food items go to the door at the right side of the front of the building. There will often be a truck unloading supplies picked up from across the city. Just put your donations on the conveyor belt or hand to a volunteer. For monetary donations go to the office which is located on the second level inside the doors at the left end of the building. This organization is worthy of your support whether by donating or volunteering. Your little can change someone’s life a lot.

I really appreciate the benefits they provide to the community. However, today July 11 at 2 pm I intended to seek help with a food bank appointment I had at 4 (I couldn't attend it and that's why I went earlier, to see if they could help me). Even though they can't help me and I understand the reasons, the.person who was hosting or giving access to people is too rude. She is in a bad mood, looks down on you, doesn't listen to you. Well we suffer for having to go to this kind of help for someone to come and make us feel worse.
I don't know her name, but with the day and time surely the managers can take some action.
