If you are a new immigrants to Nova Scotia, this is the place to visit. All services are free for new immigrants and include settlement support, employment support, community supports, language and computer training, industry specific training, business setup support, and lots more. Please note you have to be an immigrant and can't be someone on a visitors visa or an international student.

They just help the crappies and have the team of yes sir around them. Useless service because they don't even provide any real service. I don't know why are Nova Scotian funding them with their hard earned taxed Dollars. They should be shut down and pushed to the corners. Other than that their staff should be unemployed to teach them the lesson on professionalism!!!!!! If there would be any vote to shut them down and pull away the funding from this organization, I would be the first one to vote!

The English language service works well, other than that, I have never seen them work well. It is impossible to reach them. They need to train their social workers better. They were very inadequate in some areas. Unfortunately, I have no good memories with them. I don't even know if we have a social worker. I went to ask who he was. I couldn't get it. These do not suit the immigration service in Halifax.

I was researching services for a refugee family from the Ukraine. They cannot find jobs because their English is not good enough to communicate with employers/staff to get hired. Unfortunately ISANS has a large wait list for English classes (6 weeks to 6 months). The government needs to expand their funding to increase their class size. My friend has been added to the wait list. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

3 stars is given for those employees who are very helpful. Especially, Jenna the employment support for new immigrations. But some of the employees there are unfriendly. Some of them are impatient with ESL English learners. Even they are language advisors. You don't need to show your arrogance that you can speak English well to ESL English learners who are struggling with English,even you are native English speaker.
