The store isn’t big, but I spent an amazing 90 minutes there and found some treasures for my home. Prices are affordable, and they offer discounts (a large unframed painting was only $6!). You can find really nice, high-quality items. The lady at the desk was kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

I went in there I found prices high, I was looking for a tv they had a 14 inch but wanted 30$ for it, and there's 14 inches other second hand stores for 10 or 15. Same has any kitchen small appliances to much money especially when it's used and donated. Only good thing is if the right color is that week than your shopping

Love this second hand shop!
They have 2 shops one for clothing and one for house hold items.

They also have a jewelery section and cameras and what not I spotted lots of things here that you could absolutely pick up as a bit for people.

I have found some gorgeous items in both shops, all amazing prices. Some of the items are new!!!

Even the book section alone has amazing offers and deals. I cannot recommend this shop any more the staff are lovely and friendly.

This is a review for the non-clothing location. The clothing location is right beside it on the same street. Overall, I find the organization to be just okay and the pricing is higher than I would expect. However, I love to shop at a place that benefits the Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Society. I am a family doctor in Langley and love to shop local. There are gems to be found if you look hard. For example, I found a lovely tested iPod mini for a very reasonable price. The staff are also very polite and friendly.

One of the best thrift stores ever! I love the community and environment of this place. Sometimes they even have 50% sales, so I was able to get a whole bag full of yarn for 3.75! Included a lot of high quality mohair as well. My experience with the staff has been nothing but friendly. I remember once I was short of 10 cents and the cashier offered to give me 10 cents for the purchase I was making. They are lovely people

Okay, I like to give hospice stores and hospital stores a higher rating than 2 stars. So why only 2 stars?

My mom and I are out and a little turned around. We end up driving down a one-way street, which is cute and reminds me of small towns.

We happen to see Penny Pinchers Thrift Store and decide to stop in. At this point in the day it's almost 4 pm, about 10 minutes to. I walk in followed by someone else and one of the shop keepers, an older woman with grey hair either cut short or warn up) announces rather rudely they are closing,

Oops on my part, they are closing soon! I check the time and see that it's about 8 minutes to 4 pm. Okay, I quickly browse the shelves. It's not a detailed scan, because I've been barked at, which in all honesty makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Not wanting to potentially miss anything, I move over to one of the display cases and ask to see something that has caught my eye. the same woman who has been barking at everyone the store is closed or closing opens the case. I select the item I want and it's taken to the cash. I happen to be the last customer of the night.

I let the same attendant who opened the case and has been barking at people about the store closing know my mom will popping in a minute or two - I don't know if she heard me or not. Doesn't matter.

My mom comes into the store and is snapped at that they are either "closed" or "closing". I let the attendant know that the woman is my mom. No apology.

I make my purchase and with my mom (who does want to come back) leave the store. The time? 3:58 pm. Not a minute later and I see the same attendant getting into her car.

🙂

When I worked in retail, which was not that long ago,
*A customer could walk in at 3:55 pm and expect to complete their business, with a polite notification that the store was going to close in X minutes.
*The doors were not locked until 4 pm.
* Any customers still in the store at that point were politely reminded about the fact the store was closed, and or gently encouraged to hurry along their business.

There were several people who arrived after I had, likely looking to make a purchase, or browse the shelves not expecting to perhaps find something and purchase on impulse.

I should mention, shortly after I began looking at the shelves I too was snapped at regarding the close time. This interaction made me feel a little uncomfortable. Had I NOT been barked at by this particular shop attendant I might have found a few more treasures to purchase.

If I'm in the area, will I stop in? maybe.

Will I go out of my way to specifically shop in this store? no.
