I got kicked out with my 3 kids, no written notice or ample time to actually leave. Was feed ur kids and leave. Why you might ask. We'll only had issue with ONE worker the time i was there. She claims I don't watch my kids properly cause they made a mess with water while I was making there breakfast, and my older one (7) video called a friend (agents the rules which I respect) however her approach was absolutely rude and disrespectful and funny enough she's team leader.

My sister was on the phone with me all 3 times she's ever spoken to me and each time her approach was rude, disrespectful and mean. Given it's a shelter for women especially thoes who have been abused her way of handling/talking about a situation is aggressive and is a trigger for thoes who have been abused like my self.

Naturally I understand having to keep an eye on my children at all times, however her lashing out do to me being on the phone (trying to figure things out so I can get out of there) and then kicking me out suddenly cuz i apparently wasn't listening to her cuz i wasn't making eye contact.

1st of all i don't make eye contact with really anyone especially when being scolded, 2nd my daughter started talking to me while this women was scolding me so i payed attention to my kids 1st.

I had absolutely no issues with any other staff while there except the one, other staff telling me I'm doing good and how great my kids are, even other people living there saw that I was with my kids at all times but this one women was just absolutely horrible to have around.

The staff and director of this place are horrible people.
They knew I identified as Non Binary as per the call that was made to them, but my Outreach worker who made the call to the shelter, told them I identified as Female because had I not, they would have denied me entry.
So they allowed me and my children to enter the shelter, ( we were the only ones there at time of entry, I might add ) knowing full well how I initially identified, then, a few weeks later as the house started to fill up, they used my identity as an excuse to kick us out. I feel they had planned it from the get go. They just wanted to line their pockets. In my opinion.
One of the staff even went as far as putting it in her notes that I apparently said I plan on transitioning ( to Male ) when I never mentioned anything about Gender. Also, they didn’t give me anything in writing explaining why I had to leave, which is illegal, and they didn’t give me an exact date to leave verbally or in writing. They literally just dropped it on me and gave me a few hours to pack all of our things up and find somewhere safe to go. We are currently homeless as a result.
I find it odd how they did this to me considering I have the bits and pieces that would be considered Female, but they allowed someone born Male, was very obviously Male, into the Shelter when most of us Female Bodied people have experienced trauma of varying degrees from Men.
I also want to add that this place has cameras in almost every room of the house. I’m not sure if they’re Wfi only cameras, but if they are, people can potentially hack them and be watching everyone through them. Which is a major safety concern. On top of potential safety concerns, it just makes people feel extremely uncomfortable being watched like lab rats.
This place is so backwards in how it’s run, I do not recommend anyone stay's there. Find another shelter if possible.

Good cause, great caring staff. I guess I wish our society didn't need such a service, but that discussion would require a lot more character. It's impressive how much energy the staff transfers to their clients. Thank you.
