A five stars + review for my experience with ACFOMI ! It has been an amazing journey. Every time I needed professional support and assistance, I’ve had the most wonderful people offer help and resources to get me up to my feet and take my next professional steps.

They supported me to take my own path, and make sure my dreams aren’t just dreams, but achievable goals.  Being with ACFOMI in those uncertain times of the COVID 19, I’ve met wonderful and professional people.

My special thanks to Jackie Aalders, Employment Advisor Team Leader. Her dedication, and professionalism were top-notch,and she’s assisted me with the best service I could ask for, from job searching to curating my resumes and immediate feedback to all my requests and inquiries.

Natália Martins, Service Coordinator for the Training Workshop In Social And Cooperative Entrepreneurship (Offered in English and French) was also an amazing resource, which offered an excellently organized, polished, and engaging program to help me and others reach the next steps of their entrepreneurial ambitions.

Kim Gratton (Job Developer) and Zakary Georges Garné (Resource Agent) also had a great presentation, with successful results and a very thorough organization for important Job Fairs, giving the possibility to connect people and employers.

Their bilingual (French and English) support is also as good as it gets, and with all that said, I’m happy to give ACFOMI a great review, to reflect their great work and dedication.

Une revue cinq étoiles + pour mon expérience avec ACFOMI!

Ce fut un voyage incroyable. Chaque fois que j'ai eu besoin de soutien et d'assistance professionnelle, les gens les plus formidables m'ont offerte de l'aide et des ressources pour trouver mes pas et actualizer mes buts professionnels. Ils m'ont aidé à suivre mon propre chemin et à m'assurer que mes rêves ne sont pas que des rêves, mais des objectifs réalisables. Étant avec ACFOMI en ces temps incertains du COVID 19, j'ai rencontré des gens merveilleux et professionnels.

Mes remerciements particuliers à Jackie Aalders, chef d'équipe des conseillers en emploi. Son dévouement et son professionnalisme étaient de premier ordre, et elle m'a aidé avec le meilleur service que je pouvais demander, de la recherche d'emploi à la conservation de mes curriculum vitae et des commentaires immédiats à toutes mes demandes de renseignements.

My wife and I moved from Quebec to Ontario and we tried hard to find a job in Kingston but were not successful so we went to ACFOMI for help. Jackie & Kim were extremely helpful and I really appreciate them and the entire ACFOMI team. This is THE place to go if you are looking for work. My sessions were all in English, but the staff are bilingual, either way they have you covered! My counsellor Jackie was super helpful, super professional and I felt like she really listened to my needs and questions. Polishing my resume, helping me access community resources that I would have had no idea were available, building my confidence, helping me return to college as a mature student... she was beside me every step of the way. Job searching is not easy, and I am so grateful I had my employment counsellors support and ACFOMI to help me find a great job during this pandemic! Thank you!

Would not recommend. Out of touch with the realities of the modern world and society especially for people with disabilities or chronic medical conditions. Go to KEYS or St Lawrence college or Restart instead for help with employment training and job searching. I went to ACFOMI and got a job placement that was supposed to be non toxic, their words, and got there and it was just drama and toxic gossip, had to quit for my mental health and was told I was not ready to work and childish. Went to KEYS instead and have been consistently employed for 5 years now. Do not go to Acfomi everyone I know that has including myself regrets it. Anywhere else is better, the people there are mostly snobs.The only people that can really benefit from them is other French people that also snobbery in them. I am French myself but have empathy for people and understand what people with disabilities go through in terms of discrimination and harrassment because I am one.

I have been working in Human Resources for the past 30+ years in Eastern Ontario and for the first time in my life I found myself in need of assistance with my resume, LinkedIn profile, and job search assistance. I met with Jackie Aalders from ACFOMI and she was very personable, supportive, informative, professional, and very knowledgeable.
