Beautiful. Kugluk means like frightened; Like quaqsaq in eastern dialects. The name literally means it will startle you or it will terrify you! It's beautiful land. Camping is awesome except for the risk of Aqlaq (brown/grizzly bear) There was a bear on the delta while I was perch camped on the cliffs. He never got my scent or noticed me, thankfully. I watched him forage for a day, then never saw another in the 9 days I was in the land. Bugs can be a challenge! Up high is better than in the deltas! Bug nets are pretty much prerequisite for summer months.

Small airport but it's cute. No vending machines to get a snack between stops or if your flight is delayed. Canadian North agent was amazing and super friendly. Any questions was always there for you. Always tried to do right by the customer
