I contacted Abalon about our basement issues, and shortly thereafter Emerey came to our place to do an assessment. He was honest and very clear in communicating the issues so we could understand what we were dealing with. We had follow up communication with him during the process of trying to decide how to move forward. He took the time to chat on the phone about our options. This is a large company that does a lot of business, but Emerey made us feel that we were important and our concerns mattered.

They hand shoveled along our basement wall to the weeping tiles.
All soil was wheelbarrowed to the street on runners.
They replaced the weeping tiles to code.
They patched, tarred, meshed and retarred over the snap-tie holes. They filled the trench with pebbles and returned the overlying rock.
Each day, a foreman visited to inspect.
The job was done in 2 days!
You couldn't tell that they were there!

Awful experience dealing with Abalon. Reached out in November 2023 for a quote on a structural repair. Sent engineer drawings that detailed all the work that needed to be done. Took them 3 weeks to decide they needed an in person site visit to do the quote. Was told the quote would be done in about a week. Followed up many times in the weeks following, and the estimator, Emery, ensured us he was still working on it. Here we are end of February 2024, still no quote. Reached out again, and Emery's response is "sorry we're not interested". Couldn't you have decided you weren't interested in November and not wasted my time chasing you for 3 months? I don't appreciate being strung along. Would not recommend this company. This is the second time I've tried getting a quote from them, and their customer service has been terrible both times. Happy to never experience what it would be like to actually work with them.

Tried to get an estimate on a porch levelling, got an appointment for estimator to come out between 9 and 12, took the morning off work, no show. Call the office around 1 and they have no record that I had an appointment. Not very professional.
Update, estimator came by this afternoon and will be doing work tomorrow. He was much better than the scheduling mix up.

Abalon recently completed doing some foundation repair for me. Had a rental property where foundation was starting to give way. Didn't want it restored (too old) just reinforced to prevent the situation from worsening. I contacted 8 contractors, only 2 consistently replied... (sigh). Got 2 quotes, very impressed as they were about $600 apart. Went with Abalon and very glad I did. They were prompt, were there when they said they would be, Brent sent me photo's to show work being done and gave regular updates. When done the gate was a little askew, I asked Brent if he could fix that and maybe put down a little more topsoil. That same day those items were attended to. I am not in the industry so can't comment on the quality of the work (only time will tell, but I have confidence in it), but I can say that the professionalism and follow through were excellent. They will be back in spring once the soil settles to do a top up. Would recommend them to others.

EDIT TO ORIGINAL REVIEW. Wanted to add a new review, but couldn't, system would only let me edit existing review, so this EDIT is being posted Nov 9/24.

The house that the work was originally done on is a rental. This year I had to do a thorough home inspection for insurance and noticed that where Abalon had done the initial work a couple of sidewalk slabs were missing. They were removed when the work was being done and never replaced, I just hadn't noticed before. I called Abalon and after a bit of a convo they agreed to come out and replace the slabs. Not only did they replace the slabs, the fellow who did the work releveled the rest of the sidewalk (an area where they had NOT done any work!)! This is what customer service, customer appreciation and referrals (over the years I have recommended them to several other landlords) is all about! Well done Abalon! Hope I don't ever need your services again, but if I do, I can be confident in the quality of service!

Brent and his team were exceptional to work with. Provided lots of good advice to help us straighten the beams in our 100 year old home. The job was completed in a timely fashion and Brent and his crew were extremely friendly and courteous while work was going on in our home.
