Firstly took my husband to ER.they admitted him for spinal fusion he was in a terrible amt of pain waiting to see Dr 2.5 years, had surgery 5 days later which was great. He was confused and agitated for whatever reason I was visiting and asked why he was so confused ,they gave him haloperidol,an antipsychotic med ,which I googled and it said not to be given to parkinson patients, called his neurologist and he said NO not to be given it blocks the Parkinson meds from working ...so I told them they said it was just a small dose. Then they sent him to rehab and had that on his list of meds ,so guess what they continued to give it to him until I found out why he was so screwed up didn't know where he was or why . Had a conversation with the Dr. He said it should be OK, I said no call his neurologist. So finially no psychotic drugs they gave it 3 times hopeful his head will be clear tomorrow 😉

I went to children's hospital and found the doctors were always rushing to diagnose .
I understand there is a shortage of Healthcare workers in Canada and big thanks to our government for that. But doctors should never be rushing to diagnose an issue.

There are a lot of negative reviews here but wow, our experience was fantastic in the children's ER. The nurses and doctor we received were wonderful. They made our very scared 6yr old much more calm. Even through extreme pain they helped her smile and made her feel so cared for. When we arrived we were only in the waiting room about 45 minutes before being taken. Multiple tests were done on our daughter which had results quick and they took the utmost care to rule out more serious possibilities and not send us home with just an antibiotic. In the end, that is all we required but we so appreciated their thoroughness to make sure.
Update: we've done been back to emergency twice and nothing has changed. The doctors and nurses are simply fabulous. They go out of their way to make kids feel calm, less scared, let them know what is happening, etc.

emergency wait times and the very limited health conditions that they consider as an emergency is ruining the health system in Manitoba you wait about 5-7 hours and at the end they might say this is not something we deal with here you have to go to specialist which means you get to the specialist's waiting list. hopeless health system, "yes its free but reality its not useful "

This place is a joke. Visited children's and they make your wait 9 hours for emergency then another 21 hours in a room becausedue to the doctor needed was off until next morning 9am. Just unreal then they just want you to go home I'm glad there was another resource I called and said no don't go home and are handling the issue. No wonder why this place is rated do bad just unreal.

the visit was pretty decent though there was one problem. I was hooked up to monitoring equipment and needed to go to the bathroom so I pressed the call button and no one came for over an hour. So I ended up taking the stuff off and just going. Even though the machine was making a bunch of noise when I disconnected no one even peeked in my room. The nurse who eventually came said that there was a shift change so they probably just left me for the next shift to deal with. Thankfully I didn't have a more serious problem.

Had to take my son for his broken ankle. Wait time was not bad. The guy that put the cast on took his time to show my so how. To walk the the crutches. Thanks. Service was excellent. Parking still sucks but oh well.
