Have made 4 trips to the Ukrainian Store with various donations of mainly dishes, cookware, men's clothing ,etc in 2024 so far. Very impressed with the organized display of items and the staff.
Also supported the recent bake sale showcasing Ukrainian favorites and picked up some delicious baked goods..
Expect to have more items packed for drop off at the 1 Regency Dr, Dartmouth,NS location in the next week.
Have previously donated much stuff to Sally Ann Thrift store but
I feel The Ukrainian Store serves a greater need by giving the new
arrivals items free of charge.

It has been a huge support for us when we came to Halifax. We found some kitchen stuff, clothes, furniture and decoration to fill in the empty apartment.
It's all well coordinated and it's interesting to walk-in just to see closer the culture and the routine of Canadians.
Many thanks to all involved, volunteers, donors, for your priceless work and your kind help!

Чудове місце, де можна отримати безкоштовно речі для побуту, меблі, текстиль, посуд, декор. Також цікаво зайти подивитися, щоб краще відчути культуру і побут канадців.
Від серця до серця, дуже вдячні всім причетним за прикладені зусилля, за щоденну працю. Зустріли тут у Галіфаксі найтепліший прийом, який тільки можна було уявити.

Hi,

I just came all the way from Fall River to bring over my kids used toys (that both of my daughters carefully picked up this morning to share with Ukrainian children in need) to be told that they are not accepting used toys.

And this is after my colleague from work dropped off her kids used toys, and after I received an email from the store manager saying that they will happily accept it.

I just find it little bit confusing. I could bring it to any other charity but I wanted to support my nation. I’m sure there are lots of Ukrainian children who would use these toys. My children are sometimes playing with used toys too, and I don’t find anything wrong with this.

It’s all about reusing, recycling and helping those in need, And it demotivates me to know that somebody out there decided what Ukrainians do and do not need.
