What a beautiful, modern hospital with friendly, helpful staff. I was booked for some imaging here, so i spent some time here between appointments and had interactions with triages, check-ins, technicians and even the local gift shop. At every turn, I talked to helpful people that kept me moving along to get to where I needed to go. I also logged some steps and I was impressed with the modern decor, and the variety of rest stops where patients and visitors can wait, visit or rest.

Some of the noteworthy ones were the gazebos and tents outside, and the spectacular MRI area. Even the main entrance had a gorgeous wood ceiling that I couldn’t help capture.

The jewel of my time there were the people that helped me, but the decor shows that this facility is loved and well supported by the communities it serves.

I went to Emergency this week, 4 days after a trip/fall injury to my hand. Yes, it is a busy place. Staff were very good! I was kindly acknowledged, and kept informed about my place in triage. When my turn came, the nurses, doctors and imaging staff were respectful and informative. No lectures were given. Considering the renovations underway (doubtless long overdue but not an easy work under pressure best describes it. I was distracted by pain, and thinking of my dear mother-in-law who had passed away 28 years ago in this very place. I am encouraged by the treatment and arrangements for followup I received. Thanks!

Posting a review based of my recent experience here. I went into the emergency department 2 times in the matter of 2 weeks both times I was waiting over 6 hours on which could of been a life threatening situation, when I finally got seen I got bloodwork done and basically told me what I already knew was happening and sent me on my way home. I should also note I travelled to cranbrook from a small town nearby to ensure that I could get the necessary testing done at the time and knew specialist would be on call/on staff at the time. So after seeing two doctors I thought I was fine. Went to work out of province in Alberta and ended up having to get emergency life saving surgery as the due to the cranbrook doctor’s negligence. This “condition” could of been easily treated with a pill or a injection on either of my previous visits but the doctors wouldn’t look into it further and really and I mean really should have based on my past history as I have had this “condition” multiple times before and I was caught and treated before I bleed to death.

I am extremely and I mean extremely disappointed in the care I was provided on my visits in October. I shouldn’t have had to have surgery but I did due to this hospital and my own doctors negligence. I’m honestly concerning moving to Alberta as the heath care is exceptionally better and it’s just not worth risking dying over again.

Cranbrook Hospital should have an investigation into why, when Dr.'s prescribe post op pain killers, the nurses are ignoring those orders and not delivering those meds. Three time now, I have seen our Dr. prescribe opiods for serious post op pain and all they deliver are T3's. What happens to those prescribed meds? Why are the Nurses over riding Dr's orders. Am I the only one that had this experience?

I wish I could give negative stars. I had an experience there recently of trying to change an appointment and their voicemail said that they don't return all calls and to not leave multiple messages What Their unwillingness to return calls to either me or my doctors office to change an appointment is unacceptable. When I finally got my appointment they cancelled it because the tech was sick which is totally understandable but when I got there, I was left to sit in the waiting room for an hour as I had two tests to do and I thought it was the later appointment that was cancelled. I had to find someone and inquire to find this out. I wasn't going to go through the hassle to call the number again where they don't return calls to try to reschedule the appointments. Instead I went to Alberta and the staff were far beyond amazing. I would give the professional health care staff in Alberta 20 stars out of 10. It's sad that I have to go to another province to get decent health care. EKRH needs to do better.
