This is such a neat spot for a walk. You are right in the city, and feel far away. The new board walks and gravol have been a wonderful upgrade, and there are so many animals in the area. We saw Swans, Ducks, Martin, Deer, and a Hawk. The walk takes you around the edge of the island, with trails that cut through if you want a shorter/longer time. Many view points with benches, and a spot for summer swimming or a picnic.

This was a very peaceful place to go for a walk on a sunny afternoon. There are several spots to view the river, and it looks like it would be a great spot to go birdwatching.

Love it. Always peaceful and beautiful. Nice people on the trails, great conversation if wanted, or simply a peaceful stroll can always be had. Lots of beautiful places for viewing and photos. Picnick benches for lunch. Nice little beach for the kids and a generally well taken care of boat launch.

What a nice place. Very easy to drive or walk to from the city.

There are many well marked trails and a boardwalk.

There's an observational blind here. The sounds of wildlife and birds are really nice.

We visited on 9 Jul 2019 and it was a nice walk. It is primarily marshy terrain so use bug repellent before you start your walk. Carry water with you. Some of the trails are loose gravel so wear shoes with good tread. Right now there is a moose and its calf living there so be cautious. Otherwise the walk is pretty mellow with wildlife in the summer.
