I had an amazing experience at Emergency last night for what turned out to be a gallbladder attack - so painful! I still waited along with everyone else - but having an idea of what the issue was, was so reassuring. I was treated very well during intake and then assessment. The young resident who supported me was knowledgeable; was happy to share his knowledge & guidance & had a great sense of humour. I have already heard back from my ultrasound referral for a follow-up investigation. An all round quality experience and thankfully I'm feeling so much better. I'm so grateful to everyone, including the thoughtful volunteer who made the wait much easier for everyone.

Nice hospital. I hope they get some upgrades in the future like many other hospitals in the lower mainland. Chilliwack staff at the hospital are very kind and very professional. They go out of their way to help everyone who comes to them for answers and if they can't find those answers they will do their darndest to find the answer. Just one thing that I've noticed is there tends to be a large preponderance of homeless people accumulated at the entrance to the hospital. I'm not sure if they have appointments or if they are waiting for family or friends. But it does tend to create an impression that rubs off poorly on those who are there for legitimate reasons.

Our experience in emergency was great aside from typical wait times, I felt my son was cared for in a professional manner. Going back the 2nd day for an ultrasound was......aside from the absolutely rude lady at the reception desk who seemed like she didn't even care about her job.......or anything for that matter, try having a better attitude with patients who are here during some difficult and concerning things.......having someone who smiles and talks to you like human is key in these situations.......not some bitter lady who clearly dislikes her job and people!

For the depression that a hospital generally radiates, the staff here are so cheerful. Kudos to all the hardwork they do to keep the community safe and the spirits high.
Lovely staff at the maternity ward. Made our stay and the whole process so much smooth.
If i were to pick any areas for improvement, it would definitely be
- Dedicated parking for maternity patients - is a pain finding a spot when it's just you and your partner and you need to rush in with them or park overnight and can't really come out to change spots.
- The food - pretty bland, but there was sufficient quantity and variety, just that it was not appetizing
- Smoking right next to the entrance - was a big let down that they allowed smoking and controlled substance use so close to the entrance of a hospital.

Pleasantly surprised that they offered literally everything A-Z for the new born and mum and you didn't have to carry anything except your Service BC card.

That aside, absolute bliss. Nothing less than a 3* hotel stay it was.

All the love and support to the wonderful staff 🙏❤️

I took my little guy in two weeks ago. A nurse named Carlos was walking by and he stopped and quickly examined my son. We were brought to a room immediately for treatment, after waiting in the ER for less than an hour. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. Between the nurses, the respiratory therapist, the pediatrician on call, and I needed to mention Carlos because I don't think I'll ever forget his name. His attentiveness and sense of urgency is what makes the difference in this healthcare system. Everyone that worked with my son made me truly feel like he was their first priority, and that's what he needed. I can't thank you all enough.

I’ve been twice in the last week to the ER, both times have been the best experience I’ve had at a hospital. The nurses and doctors are so kind and do their very best to be helpful and bring relief. As someone with a debilitating autoimmune disease, I am at the hospital at least once a month this past year and have been to a few different hospitals in the Fraser valley, chilliwack has been by far the most accommodating and helpful one I’ve been to. The triage nurse Jen specifically was the most amazing human I’ve ever met.
Grateful to all the nurses and doctors for everything they do.

My goodness RUDEST RECEPTIONIST I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking with. How are people like this hired? I had my hands full so my phone call to the Abbotsford hospital was on speaker and even my guests were shocked at how rude and unprofessional she was, and for no good reason. even got hung up on before I had a chance to finish saying “thank you”. Ive worked as a nurse for 18 years…. NO EXCUSE for that type of behaviour on the job. Glad I don’t work at this hospital.

Our daughter spent 9 days in ICU. 6 of those days sedated. I spent 3 days by her side and I cannot praise that unit enough. Besides the amazing medical magic they preformed, which is the learning and experience of years, the compassion and care they showed was so heartwarming. From bathing her, washing and braiding her hair, and talking to her kindly even when she was sedated. They were so accommodating to our family as we spent time with her. Explaining how she was doing, what procedures they were doing and why. They encouraged us to call anytime of the day or night for updates. On day 9 she walked out of the unit amazingly well. Thank you. We are so grateful for your dedication to your profession and the love you showed. God bless you.
