As I’m sitting here enjoying my beautiful, functional backyard, I’m reflecting on the amazing work Thea, Darren and crew did for us last year. It was a big job, we had an old, decrepit rock “retaining” wall that was beginning to crumble after 10 years and needed to be replaced. Thea and Darren came to our house in the late winter and helped us solidify what we wanted to do in our backyard…they helped us envision what it would look like and to plan how to make it more functional for our family. When they began work in the early Spring, they completely gutted the yard and started fresh. I couldn’t believe the level of detail and care that goes into building a proper retaining wall…these guys do it RIGHT. This wall will outlive us all, I’m sure 🙂
They helped us navigate communication with the City, truly listened to what we wanted and advised us on how to get the very most out of our yard space including choosing building materials for the deck and fencing. Then, they brought it to life. They were always available if we had questions or concerns, even weeks after the job was complete. Their crew was so wonderful to work with, and we felt like we were in good hands the whole time. These guys know their stuff. I highly recommend Thea and Darren and North Valley Contracting!! Thanks, Guys, we love our yard 🙂

I acquired land on Okanagan Lake a few years ago and set out to develop this property for the future well being of my family. Before hiring any individual or company I have learned the hard way to vet my trades people and companies. Word of mouth goes a long way in any business and after hearing nothing but very good things about N.V.C. even in regards to a number of specific employees, I asked them to stop by the site. It took a very short period of time to realize they were obviously the right civil company for the job. Work started when and how they said and I was relentlessly impressed with the speed and quality of the work and straight forward and professional conduct of every employee. I have been in the trades most my life and could not have been more happy with the entire process. They accommodated changes I asked for, gave great advice, worked very well with other trades and put together a development for me that I am extremely proud to show my tenants, friends and family and will be honored to pass on to my son. The only down side to hiring N.V.C. was and is dealing with the overwhelming jealousy of the other developers in the area. I have an income from these lots now that will provide for my family for generations to come. I am constantly complemented on the wonderful work I did,, and as I tell everyone of them, I didn't do this, Darren, Thea, Frank, Terry and all the staff did this,, N.V.C. did this. They didn't just move around dirt, they changed the value and direction of my life. For a civil job of any size or duration I simply could not recommend North Valley Construction enough. I will simply never even consider hiring any one else.

The site, identified at last as an old, collapsed septic tank, was inspected upon request and the work addressed almost immediately. The fellows were friendly and efficient. I was pleased with the results and the expertise in resolving my problem.

Stop and read this! Why? Because you seldom find a company or a team like the people from North Valley Contracting. Simply wow! New Years Day became nasty when our sewer line was plugged. After calling over 25 companies. Yes, I will repeat that, calling over 25 companies, it became clear to me that Darren and Thea with their amazing team were the only trustworthy solution. During my calling around, I had so called "specialists" telling me that they already exactly new what was going on and that I needed a new septic system installed. One company even told me that they could start a week later, but that I would be charged at minimum 20000 dollar. (Indeed, you read that right; without even looking at the system I was quoted 20K) Thank God that I finally got Thea on the phone. Yes, Yes and again, Yes!
The North Valley Contracting team came, saw and conquered.
So, dear reader, be a part of the smart people group and contact them before dealing with anybody else. (And they do more than sewer pipes alone. Just contact them and ask. I did and I do not regret doing so.

Darren installed a new septic system for us and we are very happy with the work. It was done on time and on budget. Very honest company. They also later redid my laneway with RAP Asphalt. Great job. Highly recommended.

My wife and I trusted Darrens professional opinion and decided to go with a whole new septic system after experiencing some problems on our property. Numerous attempts to contact Darren had been made after his initial visit to our property as we were still waiting to hear back from him and we had more problems. We called another contractor who actually investigated my septic system and found the problem 30cm from the tank. The second contractor made the $1500 dollar repair versus the 20k plus figure I was facing with North Valley Contracting. After explaining this to North Valley Contracting Darren still insisted I pay for the engineering work that had been done, which I did. This cost me $2600, it is 100% my fault I did not seek a second opinion but I had trusted Darren after his first visit. Learn from my experience and get a second opinion.
