For its age, the building is in remarkable shape. The Co-operative membership is represented by a solid group of Board of Directors who volunteer their time to serve. Since I moved into the Building, I have found it to be very quiet, quite clean & well maintained. I find all residing members decent and friendly. I am very happy to be living here.

I have lived here for 7 months. I have found that most of the people who live here really don't contribute or do their fair share of participation as what is needed for a co-op to keep the costs down. The board has had to hire cleaners to make sure the building is kept clean, the building interior has been completely repainted and there have been repairs within the units. Ironically, some members didn't want repairs done because it meant needing access to their unit. Crazy.

Lived here for almost 3 years now & wonder why I didn’t apply sooner. It is quite an old building but is kept up very well. Most of the people here are friendly and always anxious to help but like any large complex there are always one or two disgruntled people that don’t think the rules apply to them. On another note the area is great for shopping and most places can be easily reached by foot if you don’t drive. Feeling lucky to be living here and making new friends!

Not to happy with the management, for being a co-op I thought tenants are all equal,we are supposed to all have a say and concerns in having a clean,safe building.not the case,I don't feel safe in this coop , concerns and expectations mostly get ignored.our building should be kept clean and safe, our security, repairs and suggestions mostly get ignored., still have a problem with a certain few that think they superior than the rest of us, still have favoritism .we all here are supposed to be equal and share our concerns. we are all supposed to volunteer in duties. not the case here , same tennants volunteer and others don't want to do their part.hopefully this will change, that's all I have to say,I want to say good things about this coop and give 5 stars instead of 1 star.

I lived at Hawthorne Coop for 13 years and at first our coop was run very well but the last few years it's been a nightmare,we have a board of 6 ,when we have board meetings the majority of our Tennant's do not want to attend because our board calls the shots,our building has gone down hill ,we should be attending our board meeting but it seems a waste because the board makes up rules that suit themselves and change rules as they suit.nothing positive comes out of our board a lot of favoritism
Dishornity and bent rules,that's all I would like to say as I could on with complaints enough to write a book.
I am also speaking on behalf of other concerned tenants.
A coop is for everyone to help each other, and feel good about where you live ,socialize and lookout for each other,and get along ,I wish we had this like we did before.
We never had a problem with our property managers but they don't stay for long.

I have a family member that lives in this building, I have to say this place is very well kept. We’ll managed and maintained. Security is wonderful and most members are very happy to be living in this building.
