Good museum and musical ride experience at The Fort Museum. I visited last week, and had a great time. Lots of well curated historical displays. I highly recommend paying the extra charge for the musical ride. I got there at 9AM and stayed until the end of the musical ride at about 10:30AM.

This place is awesome. Such a great history lesson. Exhibits are very informative and lots of neat things to see. Staff are amazing here and very helpful and friendly. My lil one really liked climbing the towers, petting the goats and horses and really enjoyed the music that went with the musical ride. Would definitely take him there again.

Very friendly staff and lots of informative exhibits. If you want to see the Musical Ride - they do not perform Mondays and Tuesdays (as of July, 2023). I would recommend 2 hours for your visit.

This is a part of Alberta's and Canada's history that should not be missed if you are in the area.

The museum has several displays about the history of the NWMP/RCMP that are informative and eye opening.

There are also several displays that demonstrate how these men lived and worked in the rugged western frontier.

If you go take the time to take in the musical ride. Though smaller in numbers they do a good job demonstrating the skills the mounted members needed to learn and demonstrate to be on the Musical Ride.

On a whim we ended up in Fort McLeod and found the Fort by accident. It was super fun. Great displays, well maintained exhibits and buildings and the musical ride was an unexpected surprise. We enjoyed our visit very much!

I wished I had more time to take in the exhibits. I already look forward to coming back and look some more. There is so much information, art, antiques and historical wisdom - take your time while on site.

When I was young, we’d watch Sgt. Preston. I’ve always wanted to know more about the NWMP. The museum showed me a better understanding of the NWMP. The history of the fort and of the RCMP was fascinating and impressive. I’d always had a lot of respect of the RCMP and now even more.

The museum was very informative. There was a nice little shop with a variety of items related to the frontier and RCMP/NWMP.

The best part of the museum was the ‘Musical Ride’ performed by volunteers who do a magnificent job of showing their horsemanship. The routines are great. The riders are very willing to answer any questions asked of them. I would recommend 1) checking their website for their schedule and 2) IF there is any kind of inclement weather in the area, call to verify the riders will be performing. I just wish I was able to film the performance. I think, should we be back in AB again, we will return visit them again.
