The front desk literally watching nba games while working. Volunteers on their phone the whole time. Scheduled programs getting canceled last minute. My first time visiting this branch and it seems like it's on a steep decline

This place has changed, came back after 10 years and it is not the same anymore. One of the issues is having a front desk that at times has no one there, or clueless hell. The cleanliness of this place has gone downhill.
If you are looking to join a fitness club do your homework and look for something else

Despite this ymca being just a few blocks from my home, our family had to stop going due to mass amounts of grown men making us very uncomfortable. Majority of people at this location are newcomers to Canada and have no awareness of Canadian societal norms.at any given time there are dozens of Grown men and senior men in both the gym and pool, sitting and staring at women and young girls. Imagine trying to swim with your daughter while 25 grown men sit in the hot tub staring directly at your bodies for an hour. It’s highly disturbing. They are also all spitting and cleaning out their noses in the pool and change rooms as well. This goes on in the gym and family change rooms as well. They also come in the viewing area when they are not swimming, and just watch and take pictures (which the lifeguard try to monitor). Not training newcomers on societal norms has ruined most of N.E Calgary services, including the YMCA. If I could suggest anything, aside from the obvious, it would be that they have dedicated swim times where only women and children can swim, and the viewing area and windows are blocked off.

The hours of opening and closing are terrible for anyone who works an 8am-4pm job. There is no reason why their hours of operation are significantly less than the other facilities. Every other YMCA facility is open from 5:30am-10:00pm or 6:30am-10:00pm except for Saddletown. As it stands, online, Saddle town is only open from 8am-4pm most days and are fully closed on Sundays.

This place is actually pretty bad in terms of actually getting gym equipment. They have a habit of deleting gym equipment, an example is chest flys which they reduced to one machine. They even have only one gym, one race track and one fitness room which get booked by seniors and high school kids so you’re stuck fighting for the little equipment they have

Worst service by volunteer sitting on check in …no manner to speak and no respect .
I don’t know why hire illiterate people at front on check in .
She cannot even move her hand to scan my barcode rather just using her phone .
WHEN I ASKED HER TO DO SO she replied “ YOU Don’t HAVE HANDS TO DO.
Incident happened :-

I have visited this place as a drop in though out 5 years now. The changing rooms stink like it hasn’t been cleaned up for months. The sports programs have been terrible experience for me because of the staff and volunteers. They are constantly standing around doing nothing talking to each other instead of coaching the kids. This year is worse than last year. Wouldn’t recommend ever going to this place.
